So Sleaze Roxx posted some vintage footage of Helix from 1979 performing at Amarillo College...I grew up in Amarillo Texas. I remember this... Amarillo college had a radio station (they still do) and they were one of the first stations to play Helix on a regular rotation in the US... I remember hearing Billy Oxygen hourly for weeks on end when the first album came out.. The first 2 helix albums sold well back then in Amarillo and the surrounding area...and virtually no one anywhere else knew who they were at the time...This brought back so may memories to me...After reading this I pulled out my old helix albums and gave them a spin... I still have my copy of Breaking Loose that I bought way back then when I was a kid headbanger

I have always loved Helix - so this was a real treat !
Wow. They sure changed and got big time wild in the 80's -
Never thought they'd have a bassist like that - but he was cool -
Like the bass player in Blues Brothers or Huey Lewis News -
I also thought about that live 'Lynrd Skyrnd' day-time show - same vibe -
This guy, a little older than me, was heart broke over some gal -
I sent him, two days ago - " Does A Fool Ever Learn " by Helix
He said that cheered him up big time thanks
