A fun listen (and surprisingly long at 16 songs) but it's a boot so the sound quality is lacking. DLR sounds great (and his stage banter is awesome) but you really can't hear Vai's guitar pyrotechnics, which is a shame.

This came in last night. It came in a digipak, which is so annoying. I hate digis, but the more annoying part is that the previous volumes, which came out last year, were in standard jewel cases. Excellent comp/series though.

Glad you got a cool comp you like, but I agree about the digi thing. I hate when bands go back and forth from cardboard case to jewel case. I don't mind if they started out in jewel and then the newer albums all go digi, but the switching drives me batty.

Upgraded some LPs to CDs and finally got all the Ozzy that I'm interested in on LP(Blizzard thru Ultimate Sin). Grabbed some JP because they were there. I thought that I had Point Of Entry so I didn't buy it. Got home, nope I don't have that one. I call the record store and it's already gone. Oh well next time.

Z listers for sure, based on success, but content-wise, I think they are musically some of the best of the lesser known/unknown/never made it thrash bands from the time. It's too bad some of the lyrical content is too juvenile/questionable for me to listen to. I woulda probably thought it was cool in 8th grade, though.

Any good? Amazon keeps shoving these guys in my face as recommendations. I've played a few :30 samples and it sounds decent enough, if not a bit generic, which probably keeps me from getting something from them. And pricewise too. For cheap, I'd probably give 'em a shot, but I'm not paying top dollar for an unknown anymore.
