Sad. Apparently Nick has been a merch mgr for quite a few bands, metal and otherwise.

Really scary. I have nothing against the French people personally. Praying for the victims of this tragedy and that they will do what they can to take action with the allied countries against these fascists.

Disgusting animals who did this. In a twisted mind even murder can be justified, but Mohammed is currently rolling in his grave. There's just no justification. And they did a huge disservice to people in need of help. The political far right in Europe just got the fuel they needed, and the entire world is uniting against ISIS. The latter is something that absolutely should have happened long ago.
It's just been a case where no-one wanted to side with a dick like Al-Assad (except Russia, who really operate on a different set of moral rules than the rest of the world), but right now it's obvious ISIS are the bigger pieces of shit. And that scum needs to be wiped out, as much as everyone hates sending "our boys" out to fight yet another war in the middle east. I put "our boys" in quotation marks, because well, the Finnish military is what it is, but I feel the entire world should stand together and stop the madness already.
Whatever Scandinavian troops in the Middle East have always been more symbolic than anything, but everything counts.

I agree with you 100 percent Lari. It's long overdue in my opinion. How long before this happens over here? Especially with our current POS who can't even say radical Islam.

Here's the one thing we have to keep in mind. IF we do send ground troops, whether it be just ourselves or whether it be a coalition effort, we better be prepared for the consequences of those actions. The consequences being, our dead soldiers/the dead coalition soldiers, a further escalating deficit which is spiraling out of control, and most importantly, the creation of the next Osama Bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri, Jihadi John, etc... The biggest mistake this current administration has made, was the JV comment as it pertains to Isis, which made them look incompetent, and not giving the Kurd's enough military funding in both Iraq and Syria. The problem with sending our ground troops, is that we once again will be seen as liberators and worst of all occupiers. This feeds right into Isis or Al-Qaeda's propaganda plans. They want to turn your moderate thinking Muslim into your next jihadist. They want to paint the picture of the west being evil and that wouldn't be that hard in most of those nations. They get their news through ONE outlet and that is that of the propagandist or the radical Muslim. We have little to no chance of swaying their thoughts. Most Muslims are good people, but all it takes is that fringe element to become MORE than just a fringe element.
If I thought ground troops was the answer and that it wouldn't breed more radical Islamist's, then I would agree that a coalition effort is the way to go. What I would much rather see is, the Kurd's be seen as the liberators in those northern provinces of Iraq and throughout Syria. They have always been an ally of the U.S and we have consistently let them down as it pertains to funding their fight against "our" enemies. Let's not forget about what Bin Laden left behind on his cache of videos. He not only wanted to kill Americans and those in the west, BUT New York City was his target, because it symbolized western culture and more importantly it is our financial epicenter. He talked about how he wanted to bankrupt our country through wars that would be generational in nature. I just hope whatever route we take, it's the right one.

It'd never be USA alone. EU has already supported France's statement that all the nations in the union are now at war against ISIS.
It's not a military union though, just an economic one. So it remains to be seen what will actually happen. If they really wanted to, European Union could wield an armed force that would blow out ISIS in a few weeks. It's just not their M.O.
They are very reluctant in sending troops outside the continent, especially uninvited. History, morals, crusades, etc are all very touchy here. You'd rather just subtly "help" the locals sort their problems out.

Sounds a lot like current US foreign policy. Apparently we'd rather let France and Russia bomb the hell out of ISIS. This "leading from behind" shit is really getting old.

Has anyone seen the interview with the band? God, this is gut-wrenching.
Can't imagine going through something like that.
