I don't have any problems with the vocals, they kind of remind me of Mike Vescera at times.

Again, the song is decent but the vocals still sound a bit off.

It sounds like Grim Reaper, cheesy but fun.

He still has that unusual look about him. A big guy. Voice isn't as piercing, as in his early years...but still recognizable The drummer was energetic and looked great. Guitar solo was good. It'll be fun to hear the rest of the release. Grimmet is a veteran ! In one odd way, he reminded me of Biff, from Saxon.

Probably be passing on this one. Didn't care for that song, and never really been big on them as it is. I have their older albums, but I ready listen to them.

I own that Onslaught album. Although it has a mixed reception from their fanbase, I think it's their best album.
I agree. One hell of an album. Picked it up a few months ago.

Did anyone pick up this album? I'm curious to hear any opinions of it.

Steve's vox are too out front. Needs more guitar. But, it is what should be expected for 2016. Good stuff.

Apparently Steve Grimmett has fallen ill... while on tour in South America this past week, he was hospitalized with some sort of infection in his foot/leg (he performed his last Grim Reaper gig sitting in a chair cuz he couldn't stand).
Steve's wife posted this update on the official Steve G./Grim Reaper FB page today. Yikes! Doesn't sound good.

Update on Steve.....
unfortunately the operation didn't work and steve is currently in the operating theatre having limbs removed. We don't know how much of the leg will need to be removed but Steve is very very ill. He has an aggressive infection that spread very quickly over night.
I am sorry to say the rest of the tour has been cancelled. I am hoping to fly out myself soon and stay with steve until he is ready to come home so I may meet some of you then.
But don't worry, the voice WILL be back.

My goodness. I wonder what type of infection would do that ? Hope he makes a full recovery.

Poor Steve. as horrendous as something like this must be on a normal day, it's gotta be even worse when you're so far from home, in a place where you don't speak the language...yeesh
This is awful, but I messaged the link to this story on Steve's FB to a buddy of mine this afternoon, and when he wrote back he joked "So is the entire tour cancelled ... or just this leg?"
...I laughed, but I felt terrible for doing it.

It's sad to hear this news. I hope that whatever this infection is gets removed and Steve makes the best recovery he can.

Wow, that's shocking. Hoping for the best...whatever that may be at this point.
I just listened to the album yesterday. I agree that the vocals stand out front too much, but the song writing is actually quite strong. I enjoyed it much more than I was anticipating.

i've read it has something to do with his diabetes.
"Just some quick insight on this -- Steve Grimmett is diabetic. His condition is almost certainly related to a diabetic foot ulcer which turned into osteomyelitis which is basically an infection of the bone which often necessitates surgical intervention (usually amputation). Osteomyelitis can be life threatening, usually because it can cause septicemia, which is an infection of the blood. He may need some heavy-duty IV antibiotics (e.g. vancomycin, Zosyn) This is reasonably common in diabetics and though they often pull through, it's a very tough road. Diabetes can cause poor wound healing which obviously is a problem in someone who just had an amputation, which sometimes means more surgeries in the future."

UPDATE: GRIM REAPER FRONTMAN STEVE GRIMMETT “HAD HIS RIGHT LEG REMOVED FROM BELOW THE KNEE”
January 18, 2017, 10 minutes ago
Millie Grimmett, the wife of Steve Grimmett (Steve Grimmett's Grim Reaper), has issued an update on her husband’s condition.
Millie revealed yesterday that Steve took ill at Saturday night's (January 14th) concert in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and performed most of the show sitting down. He was then taken to a hospital where he had an operation to remove an infection from his foot and bones. She later revealed that the operation didn't work and Steve was “currently in the operating theatre having limbs removed.”
In an update, Millie now reveals: “Yesterday Steve had his right leg removed from below the knee. The infection was so aggressive it spread from his toes to his knee over night. I've briefly spoken to him and he sounds in high spirits, laughing and joking. Hopefully he will start his journey home next week.”
As mentioned yesterday, the remainder of the Steve Grimmett's Grim Reaper tour has been cancelled.

Sounds similiar to what happened to guitarist Leslie West of Mountain. Diabetes, then infection, then amputation.
