| The Pirates beat the Braves today 3-0 behind a strong outing by Gerrit Cole. He picked up his 9th win (league leader) and now I believe he has the league's lowest ERA. | |

HA! Chop that Atlanta! I hate the Braves. I root against them even when it would be in the Cards favor if they'd win. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I had MLB Network on today while I was cleaning. I saw a real goofy play in the bottom of the 9th of the Astros/Jay game. The Jay's Jose Reyes was on second base and Bautista was batting. He hit a popup just to the first base side of second and for some reason the Astros second baseman didn't take control; he left the popup to the shortstop who had to try to get around Reyes who was standing on the bag. It was funny because Reyes basically stood on the bag, crouched down and covered his head while the shortstop stumbled over him. The popup dropped and the Jays ended up scoring both Reyes and Bautista for a come from behind win and sweep.
It was a funny play and Reyes did nothing wrong because 2nd base was his territory so he just stood there and hoped the popup wouldn't hit him in the head.
I love MLB Network; that's become my go-to channel when there isn't really anything else on TV. Their MLB tonight show is a lot like the Red Zone of NFL Network because they whip around for live check-ins of games going on. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I still hate them from when TBS broadcast all their games and dubbed them "America's Team". One of the same reasons I hate the Cowboys in the NFL. I despise the presumptuousness of these teams that self-ordain themselves "America's Team". _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Getting ready to watch the Cards vs the Dodgers on ESPN tonight. Greinke vs Lynn. I don't like our chances but since we took the first two, I'm OK if we lose. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I watched about 5 innings of the Pirates-Brewers game but bad weather kept delaying the game. When I stopped watching it was a scoreless tie. I see now that the Pirates are losing 1-0 in the 8th , still delayed. I imagine they'll be calling it soon. | |

| Cards not only got whalloped by the Rockies 11-3 last night but Matt Holliday strained a quad and is on the 15-day DL. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Wow. That's the first I've heard about that. The Cards are having some bad luck injury-wise this year.

| Yeah, every team goes through injuries but we've already had two season-ending ones. I'm not too worried about it as long as Holliday can come back in 2 weeks. We have 5 outfielders anyway. But we can't afford to not have his RBI bat in there for the long term. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| And yet the Cards are still miles above everyone else in the division. Frustrating (for the competitors)... | |

| Yeah, I totally understand why a lot of fans of other teams hate the Cards. I would too if they weren't my team.
What amazes me is that I now live in Cardinal Country. They've been my favorite team since second grade and I grew up in PA. I didn't move here until 1995. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| This article sums up my feelings on the Cardinals in a hilarious fashion:
http://deadspin.com/why-your-cardinals-suck-1443513646
Favorite part:
"I think Yankees fans are horrible people: selfish, arrogant, profane, and miserable all at once. But at least they don't attempt to hide their repulsiveness. At least there isn't this deliberate, "Oh, we're not like those OTHER fans" fakeness that OOZES from the Cardinals and their acolytes. Wanna know who you really are, Cardinals fans? You are this. You are poorly disguised Yankees fans in ugly Christmas sweaters carrying a Jell-O mold to your neighbor's door. And your constant attempts to turn every October into an extended production of Our Town makes me want to hang myself with a extension cord.
St. Louis, the town, is a f*cking dump. It's not some magical heartland paradise filled with talking Teddy Ruxpin dolls and a five-and-dime on every corner. It's a sh*thole. It's just as troubled and uncivilized as the rest of the country. The Cardinals are a desperate attempt to polish that turd for all it's worth, and I've seen enough of them for this lifetime and the next. LOSE. LOSE BADLY."

| I agree that St Louis, the town is a hole. It really is. And I've lived 30 miles from Philadelphia and 40 miles from Memphis so I know a hole when I see one. That's why I live about 50 miles from St. Louis. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| A disappointing outing by the Pirates. Lack of offense leads to a 4-1 loss. | |

| Well, the Cards won today 4-2 to avoid the 3 game sweep. The Cardinals haven't been swept since July of 2013. Rosenthal came in throwing triple digit fastballs and got save #20.
So I was all happy and relieved until I saw this:

| A solid outing by Charlie Morton gives the Pirates a 2-0 win. The Pirates had plenty of hits but couldn't get a whole lot of runs. But when your pitching is that solid it doesn't really matter. | |

| Nice to see the Bucs picking up the pace and passing up the Cubbies at least for now.
Chicago will be good in the coming years but they seem to think this year is their year. Let's show them otherwise. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Wow. That's a brutal game. I HATE the Reds but I'm sick and tired of the Cubs thinking they're going to be in the playoffs this year too. They need to shut up and wait a couple of years instead of barking about how this is their year. I guess I have to root for the Reds because barring a total collapse by St. Louis, the Reds don't appear to be a threat this year. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
