Dream Theater: Images and Words or Fates Warning: Perfect Symmetry. I can't really remember, but it was one of those two. I actually bought a few cd's before I had a player, like Queensryche EP and Priest's Defenders.

My mom bought my first CD. It was Gershwin Rhapsody In Blue Laughing very hard I still have it, actually.

As for the first CD I picked out myself, I know the first used and new LPs I got and cassettes, but I do not remember the first CD.

I purchased my first CD for someone else's CD player! It was Vengeance Rising - Once Dead.

I "bought" three U.D.O albums - No Limits, Holy and Faceless World when I was 12 or 13 (forced my grandmother to the CD shop).

I had bought this on CD, because I hated cassettes thou I had a few of them, and they had not released on vinyl. As a matter fact bought it on CD before I had a CD player and had a friend dub me a copy on cassette. The following week bought a CD player and the rest is history

-Ozzy- No More Tears or No Rest for the Wicked (I got these on CD around the same time, but I forget which was part of my initial CD buying experience)
-Paul McCartney- Tripping the Live Fantastic
-Byrds Greatest Hits

These were the first 3 I bought. I didn't have a CD player yet, but I knew I'd be getting one soon for my birthday.

I remember for Christmas in 1988, I received:

Master of Puppets, Ride The Lightning, Kill 'em All, ...And Justice For All, Reign In Blood, South of Heaven, Pyromania. I can't remember the first I bought. It might have been Hysteria?

As best as I can remember it was in 1996:

Beck - Odelay
The Beatles - Rubber Soul
The Beatles - Revolver

I think I purchased them a week apart. Good old Beck Razz From that point on it's anyone's guess.
