My first CD was AC/DC's "Let There Be Rock," to replace my burnt-to-a-crisp cassette.

My very first CD was World Party's Goodbye Jumbo. Then Richard Marx's debut. My first metal CD was Guardian's Miracle Mile, mainstream was Dokken's Beast from the East. Kind of fuzzy on that last one.

She had just turned 23 a couple weeks before she had me, so she was still young and rocking out when I was a little kid.

LOL if Hear in the Now Frontier was your introduction to heavy metal, I'm surprised you're here at a metal message board with us today!

Clearly I survived the experience.
But it wasn't my introduction to metal as I had albums on cassette prior to that. It was just that when I started buying CDs, that was the first one I bought by a metal band.

I'm quite sure that it was the Led Zeppelin Remastered Box Set - the one with the crop circles on it.

I owned a few CDs before I actually found myself in a position to buy them on my own (an addiction which continues unabated to this day). Most of them were gifts given after a relative updated with a new remaster or something of the like.
If memory serves, my first three CDs owned were:
-R.E.M. - Life's Rich Pageant -Pink Floyd - Animals -Pearl Jam - Ten
The first CDs I remember buying (this may have been the first transaction, but memory is an unreliable beast and all that) were Disciplined Breakdown by Collective Soul (still a favorite) and Reload by Metallica (on the strength of "The Memory Remains" being the single at the time, naturally). I also recall picking up Clumsy by Our Lady Peace around the same era, but I have no idea what order that all happened in.

My first cd was KISS (Music From) The Elder while I was working in Clearwater FL. I didn't even have my cd player yet, it was on layaway at the Appliance Store back home and I was picking it up when I got back. Second one was Tesla The Great Radio Controversy.
