Made a rare (compared to Life Before Kids) trip to a music shop today. Picked up these:

Kamelot - Haven (2CD w/Bonus Tracks)
Maegi - Skies Fall
Tau Cross - Tau Cross
Various Artists - Endangered Species (6 x 7" Singles) (Box Set)

That Maegi album might be of interest to some of you. It was $3.99 but looked like a death metal album, so I put it back. Later I saw it again, opened the plastic wrap (it was used) and looked at the booklet. I saw Tim "Ripper" Owens, Hansi Kursch, Chris Boltendahl, and Zak Stevens listed under Vocals, so I said screw it and bought it blind.

I listened to a few tracks on the way home. I wasn't blown away, but they were decent tunes.

Yeah man, I love these 60s garage/psych comps. I've purchased about a dozen, but there are hundreds, between box sets, individual comps and then the multi-volume series like this one, some of which have up to 20 volumes. Some good series include:

-Nuggets (the standard, if you aren't familiar)
-Pebbles
-Rubble
-Gravel
-Teenage Shutdown
-Highs in the Mid Sixties
-Fuzz Flaykes and Shakes
-Back from the Grave
-Mindrocker
-Not a series, but the label Arf Arf has put out dozens of cool comps of this kind of stuff and beyond.

There are many others, of course.
