| Judas Priest is releasing a 3 CD, 30th Anniversary Edition of Defenders of the Faith:
"On 9th March 2015, a newly expanded 3CD version of Judas Priest’s platinum-certified 1984 album ‘Defenders of the Faith’ will be unleashed...
This special 30th Anniversary Edition includes the original ten-track album, fully remastered and a complete live recording from the ‘Defenders’ tour, recorded at the Long Beach Arena in California on 5th May, 1984.
The 21-track concert (split up over two discs) perfectly balances the then-new material from the group's ninth studio offering overall, including such classics as 'Metal Gods,' 'Breaking the Law,' 'Sinner,' 'Electric Eye,' 'The Green Manalishi (With the Two-Pronged Crown),' 'Victim of Changes,' and 'You’ve Got Another Thing Coming,' among many others.
"It's 30 years since we released 'Defenders of the Faith' - we're very proud to say it has become a classic that's beloved by Priest fans throughout the world"
Judas Priest continues to 'defend the faith' to this day, as the group recently issued their seventeenth studio album, 'Redeemer of Souls,' which sees the band's popularity amongst metalheads remain as strong as ever, as it debuted higher than any other previous Priest release, hitting #1 in many countries. On the group's current tour, quite a few classics from 'Defenders' are being performed for the first time in years. Soon, fans will get a chance to re-experience vintage Judas Priest, with the 'Defenders of the Faith' reissue!"

| I am sure the remaster with be the same old crappy Jon Astley 2001 remaster. I am really looking forward to the 2 disc live album though! I think I have a boot of that show and it's very good.
**Edit**
Here's the setlist from that show:

| Great set and The Sentinel is in there, so I'll probably invest in this purely for that. Defenders is a fun album, brainless and a bit too glossy yet full of great riffs and some nasty moments. But I could care less about owning the album twice over. Just give me the live shit! | |

| Unless I lose the version I have (I own the remaster), I'll stick with that. | |

| I haven't commented in here for a while, but as much as I would love to get this, I already have the FM version of this concert. This concert is all over download land. I already enjoy the sound, so I will probably not be purchasing this one. | |

| That had to be the hieght of Priest - it all seemed to lead up to Defenders - I was listening to them since - 'living after midnight' with continual curiousity - so - I was thrilled - to say the least - when "Screaming For Vengence " came out -great lp - even the lp cover and design - lol - Devil's Child - Bloodstone - Take these Chains - but then the Defenders lp came out - forget it - they upped it a gear that year - It's like a motorcycle going from 65 mph up to 85 mph - with a wheelie - POW ! | |

| Might be worth it if they switched KK and Glenn back to their original sides. They messed it up on the previous remasters. | |

Yep! I was blown away with Freewheel Burnin'. What a rockin' song. I think at the time I thought it was the heaviest song I ever heard.

| I picked up a used copy of Unleashed In The East on vinyl a couple years ago and compared it to the 2001 CD remaster, the LP is superior in every way (EQ, compression, stereo image). |

I did the same with Screaming for Vengeance. Even the most casual anti-audiophile could pick up the differences. Oddly enough, when I picked up the anniversary edition of the album (same remaster) I actually enjoyed what I heard and had no idea it was the same. Witchfinder pointed out to me that it was. I didn't really hear that until I compared to the vinyl.

| Has anyone picked this up? The remaster sounds good to me. It's awesome that they included the full show and not just a few bonus tracks, as I've never heard a recording of this quality from the DotF tour. "Love Bites" is a rather weak opener in my view, but from Jawbreaker on it's a killer set. | |

| I picked it up, then put it down. It was 19.99 and that's too steep for me. | |

I bought it. The remaster by Tom Allom is good but very loud. The live show is great and a nice addition to the Priest collection.

| I'm surprised that the show itself is good. Isn't that the one all the live bonus tracks from the last wave of remasters were taken from? Rob sounded like he was about shot on some of those. | |

I think most of those were from different tours altogether. The 2001 DofF re-issue only had "Heavy Duty/Defenders of the Faith" as live bonus tracks, and those were in fact from this same show. Rob sounds really good overall on this show, and I can't imagine them trying to doctor it thirty years after the fact, when his voice sounds different.

Only four tracks from this show were used on the 2001 Remasters: "Jawbreaker" - Sin After Sin "Grinder" - British Steel "Heavy Duty/Defenders of the Faith" - Defenders of the Faith "Night Comes Down" - Ram It Down
