| The "first album" question was much easier to answer. This one is tough. Can't think of even one off the top of my head. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I'm taking this to mean bands who are not still releasing new music.
The Crucified: Pillars of Humanity
Crystavox: The Bottom Line
Not metal, but Grammatrain: Flying
Seventh Avenue: Terium
Sacrament: Haunts of Violence
Several bands would fit this category until they reformed recently.

| Bit of a technicality, but if pressed for an answer, I'd say The Doors LA Woman, the last studio album with Jim Morrison, would be my favorite album of theirs.
And the Foo Fighters last release, Wasting Light, would also be a favorite of mine. Whether it stays that way when all is said and done remains to be seen. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| Unruly Child. I like their first three, but for me World's Collide is one of the best melodic hard rock albums of all time. | |

| Decrepit Birth's most recent album, Polarity, is their best to date.
They get better with each album; I can't wait for their next effort to come out.

| Marshall Law - Razorhead
Two bands with large discographies that would have qualified a couple years ago - then they made one more album: Skyclad and Iron Maiden.

| Because it isn't specified, I'm just going to consider this "most recently released" rather than "final release before breakup". Partially for numbers sake. Gridlink-Longhena Deafheaven-Sunbather Napalm Death-Utilitarian Primus-Green Naugahyde (arguably metal/rock) Rings of Saturn-Dingir Skeletonwitch-Serpents Unleashed Wormrot-Dirge (Noise is technically an EP) Zimmer's Hole-While You Were Shouting at The Devil... Slechtvalk-A Forlorn Throne Paths of Possession-The End of The Hour Naglfar-Teras Kadenzza-Second Renaissance | |

| Vengeance Rising - Released Upon The Earth
They only had 4 albums, and I used to love them all equally, though the debut used to edge out the others by a little bit.
Looking forward to the re-release and owning it again. http://www.roxxproductions.com/updates-june-2014/
