He's just channelling it into his career in the Real Estate business now. You can find some promotional videos on youtube.

I'm shocked that people still care so much. I'll never be able to understand.
It's not like the guy was Mozart or something and had off-the-charts musical talent.

He was just SO vocal and aggressive in his Christianity, that when he did a 180 and went in the complete opposite direction it was a shock and a bit of a train wreck to behold. VR being one of the very first Thrash bands in Christian music contributed to the rubbernecking...

I used to attend some of his bible study groups at Sanctuary South Bay, he was gifted at teaching and I honestly believe his faith was sincere at that time. I respect somebody making a conscious commitment to their beliefs regardless of connotations and sticking by that instead of faking it like so many do. I also have a theory as to why the mans heart was broken and things turned out the way they did, it's a sad, sad thing.
I pray for all those old Sanctuary-ites whenever listening to music from those bands. Great memories for me and sad ones as well. Watching honest to goodness ministries get sucked into the rock n roll lifestyle and chasing the buck really, really sucked.

I'd be curious to hear your theories. This is the first I've heard of the guy or his band and that's a pretty intense story even in the very abridged version Wiki offers.

Years ago on the original Vengeance Rising Warpath EZboard Roger had a call-line set up reminiscent of what he offered in the heyday of the band, but this time with his cell number. I don't think anyone was interested enough to actually try it though

I remember that. He also had, like, 51 cdr sermons to combat his original 50 Christian sermon cassettes [or something like that].

There was also talk of re-releasing the VR vhs release with new commentary refuting the evangelism on the original release, but I'm not sure if that every materialized.

I remember being at a Microsoft Office class in 2001. the teacher let us surf the web when my lessons were done. I went to Roger's website and all this crazy pop-up porn came up and I couldn't get rid of it. I had to actually shut down the computer to get it to stop. Needles to say, I was mortified...

I personally never cared for them and was shocked how popular they must have been in Christian circles, I barely remembered them, and I knew no one had or owned any of their albums.

I remember hearing Pastor Bob talking about it, he said he actually felt somewhat responsible for Roger's turn. Don't think he should blame himself, as he did nothing wrong. Sometimes these things just happen.

Let's hear that theory James! I think he was really hurt by people he felt were really close friends,so his hurt turned to anger and he got mad at God.I would say its hard especially in the Christian market to try and run a ministry and a business venture.IMO.

Never heard of him. . . or of his Christian metal band before. Very interesting tid bits - from what I could piece together - " You can buy a 3-4 bedroom house, it's that simple " - Ratt and Roll book said that Stryper - were banging chicks all over the place - before coming up with the 'God' - angle - and the black and yellow uniforms - anyways - someone said the Christian music market - is a billion dollar a year thing - no one would ever guess it - but there's a constant huge demand - like country and western - Us metal-heads are a unique breed - outnumbered !
