| I'm a casual Floyd fan. The wife and I have "The Wall" (doesn't everybody?) and "Dark Side of the Moon" and that's about it I think. When I was in college I roomed with a guy who was a MASSIVE Floydian (is that the correct term?) and he played pretty much every note they'd ever recorded numerous times over the course of the year we lived together. We once went to the Hayden Planetarium in NYC for a "Laser Floyd" show whilst under the influence of some, shall we say, "substances" that made the music and visuals MUCHO intense. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I used to be a major Floyd fan, but my interest has seriously decreased over the years. If someone asked me to pick 5 favorites right now.....
1. Meddle 2. Wish You Were Here 3. Piper At The Gates Of Dawn 4. Obscured By Clouds 5. Animals
The following albums I'm unable to listen to anymore, for a variety of reasons: The Wall, Dark Side Of The Moon, The Final Cut, Momentary Lapse Of Reason, The Division Bell
While they didn't make my top 5 I still enjoy pieces of Ummagumma, Atom Heart Mother, More, A Saucerful Of Secrets. |

I agree. I really think dark side is one of Floyd's worst albums. Let the flame war start. |

| No flame war from me. You like what you like; I like what I like. Our likes just happen to be different. I would suggest giving Animals a listen though if you've never heard it. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I think Dark Side is great if you listen to it all the way through. In pieces, the album isn't as strong. But wow, I think that album has some of the most overplayed songs in the history of recorded sound. |

I think that's the same for any Floyd album. They've got some good songs, but you need to listen to the whole album all the way through to really appreciate it.

| I hated Floyd for years. To me, they were music for hippies and stoners. I was too F**KING METAL for that stuff!! As I've matured (somewhat), I have discovered that I was missing some great music. Wish You Were Here is my fav. | |

| Pink Floyd is the greatest band of all time (besides Zeppelin), and have allways been musically genius. Not a big fan of their 60's stuff, it for some reasons scared me a bit (no seriously, Piper at the Gates of Dawn is freaking scary near the middle). My favorite albums by them are Dark Side of the Moon, the Wall, and Wish You Were Here. | |

| LOVE Floyd! Wish You Were Here is my favorite followed closely by Dark Side and Animals. I understand what you guys are saying about Dark Side tunes being over played, that's why I don't listen to the radio much anymore. Even classic rock radio seems to only know three songs from every artist. My wife berates me because I take a CD along when running errands in town. She just doesn't get it! But I digress... | |

Just picked up The Wall this weekend. Looking forward to hearing it in it's entirety for once and not just the "hits"

It's much better that way. There are a few songs that just totally suck like "One of my turns" but most are really good. Waiting for the worms is my favorite though. |

| The Final Cut is actually a really interesting album (though it's more of a Waters solo album, Richard Wright isn't on board and it's not PF without him)...there's some great songwriting on there...but it's so depressing that I have to be in a very special mood to listen to it.
Gilmour's solo on the title track is one of my all-time favorites. Favorite song is Paranoid Eyes. |

| Even though seldom mentioned, Piper At The Gates Of Dawn is one of the BEST examples of true Psychedelia and Barrett's compositions were very influential on several generations of alternative musicians. Not a bad song on the album but definitely a "love it or hate it" type of affair. See Emily Play, Interstellar Overdrive, Bike...all classics. |
