Just found out he also released three solo albums. Haven't heard the two he recorded in the '90s yet, but his 1988 solo debut features a pretty great cover of Kiss' Sword & Stone, a song probably best known in the Bonfire version from the Shocker soundtrack:
Any other fans of this guy here? Are the '90s albums any good?

He was Loverboy's guitarist, right? Never knew he even released solo material.

I always ignored loverboy because of the shockingly awful name. Shallow for sure but there you have it!

Agreed. And they were a cool band to see live too.

When MTV first came around Loverboy got a lot of play with their videos for "Turn Me Loose" and of course "Workin' For the Weekend" -- my brother and I had their first couple of albums on cassette back then. Lost track of 'em as my tastes got heavier.
...then I picked up Loverboy's "Big Ones" best of at a yard sale a couple of years ago, I was amazed at how good some of those songs still sounded. Killer hooks.

I saw loverboy in concert on their "lovin every minute of it" tour. The hooters were the opening act. I was surprised how loud and rocking loverboy was. they didn't have a wall of stacks or much lighting...mostly neon lighting and dean had a small mesa boogie combo amp. It was a great show..
