So apparently this actually exists:
It's nice to hear Animal from The Muppets on vocals.
Admittedly, I think the music is kind of cool.

No problem! A colleague just got back from her Chinese New Year holiday and told me about them.

I really dig the music a lot but the vocals sound like Mongolian Lemmy to me. They're actually not too offputting once you get used to them.
EDIT: The more I listen to this the more I like it.

I've got the strange chorus rattling in my head after only one listen.

Yeah, me too. And that's my #1 criterion when I listen to a band, does it stick in my head? This definitely does.

Anybody know where we can hear more from this band?
EDIT: nevermind

The guy's vocals on the Metallica cover actually aren't too bad.
And I like the balalaika sounding instrument they use in their music.

Usually I hate folk metal because it's all about a mishmash of Scandinavian stuff but like LOTR gone wrong. This is intriguing though coming from further East, so I'll listen when I get home.

This has some appeal. A little lightweight, like something is off or incomplete about it. Kinda stays in the same place the whole time.

I'm a sucker for vocals in foreign languages. Plus anything Mongolian to me is just cool.

Nine Treasures released their third album (digitally) earlier this year. There's actually a bit more variety to the vocals. Needless to say I enjoyed the album and I love this band. Also, I should mention that in June, the first two albums are getting a reissue through a German label.
Tengger Cavalry are also releasing a new album soon, though I like Nine Treasures a lot more than them.

I only own one Tengger Cavalry album so far, Sunesu Cavalry. I liked what I heard of The Expedition, and the single they released recently for the new album. They're playing in a neighboring state over the summer, about two hours from me, but I wouldn't know anyone who would go
