| Want to get everyone's opinion on Nuclear Blast's Tribute To The Four Horsemen (those who have heard it). Except for the ridiculous cover of The Memory Still Remains, there is not a bad cover on there. Thunderstone adds piano to Welcome Home (Sanitarium) nicely, Sonata Arctica give Fade To Black a cold and eerie outro as opposed to the origional speedy one, Therion use an orchestral intro before tearing up Fight Fire With Fire, and while a little too short I really enjoy Crematory's cover of One, and those where just a few of them. Primal Fear, Anthrax, Tankard, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Burden Of Grief, Sinner, and Destruction deliver the goods as well. | |

Sounds cool. I've never heard it, though. I'll have to add that to my lala list. Should be an easy score. |

| Primal Fear's cover of SEEK AND DESTROY is the only song off of this I've heard... they included it on the bonus disc of classic covers that came with the METAL IS FOREVER best-of collection. Sounded pretty good, if I come across a copy of the tribute I'd pick it up (even though I'm pretty well burned out on tribute albums after all this time...) | |

Perhaps you would enjoy The Buddha Lounge Redititions Of Metallica: the Black Lounge instead?

| I like the Metallic Attack - The Ultimate Metallica Tribute Album. You can't go wrong with Motorhead, Flotsam & Jestam, Dark Angel and Death Angel covering Metallica songs.
I've no heard the Nuclear Blast tribute, but they tend to release quality tributes. I have several Nuclear Blast tributes that are all good. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

That Humary Stew Tribute to Alice Cooper is great, I wish there were more tributes as good as that one! You should grab Numbers From The Beast sometime, its a pretty good Maiden tribute. Paul Di'Anno is on it, doing Wrathchild for the 90 billionth time. I would be cool if a former member did their replacement's songs on these things really.

| For awhlie there, I was buying up these tribute albums left and right but it just got to be too much and they were all becoming too cookie-cutter. Especially the ones with no full bands, just individual members of famous bands, putting their own spin on classics*. And even then, they weren't doing the songs that much different from the original. I'd listen to it once or twice and more often than not, I'd dig out the originals instead.
That being said, there are some real good ones out there and I'm sure, like Ult said, that's if this one is Nuclear Blast, it's quality. *EDIT: Cleopatra and Versailles records are the 2 that come to mind. These guys put out a new "tribute" album every 6 months.

Dwell Records was another label that seemed to have no actual artists on their roster, they released "All Tributes, All The Time" but I believe they're out of business now. I remember reading a review of some of their CDs that said the label should change their name to "K-Dwell." Century Media's two-volume Judas Priest tribute and their HOLY DIO set are my all time favorite tribute albums

Century Media's two-volume Judas Priest tribute and their HOLY DIO set are my all time favorite tribute albums The Tribute To The Four Horsemen is much different than most tribute albums. Almost every single band on that tribute add their own twist to the origionals. If you like Century Media's tributes then you'll like this one.

I went to Amazon and checked. It's a pretty strong line-up. I've heard Anthrax's Phantom Lord. The rest might be worth a listen.

| The Overload: A Tribute To Metallica CDs (there are two) are pretty good. There's a melodic death metal version of "Nothing Else Matters," which is killer! |
