| So I'm growing my hair back out, much to my wife's chagrin. She believes it will hurt business because, you know, it diminishes the professional aesthetic (I work B2B). What do you guys think. I want to go to my shoulders like once upon a time. | |

| I cut my hair off in 1996....grew it back to my shoulders (all over) in 1999...cut it off again. Now that it's falling out, I just keep it shaved or buzzed really close. I work at a desk, in a cubicle, for a jeans company and never see the public...if my hair were not falling out, I'd grow it back in a heartbeat. _________________ FINAL SIGN

| For the record, I used to have long hair - I cut it off 3 months before I graduated from college. Do I miss it? Sometimes, but if I want to be successful in my line of work I can't wear it long. | |

| I could never get my hair to grow past my shoulders. I have wavy/slightly curly hair that as it gets longer it just seems to grow out instead of down. I haven't kept it that long in a while now. | |

| I have never had long hair and there are times that a good riff inspires a windmill, but honestly, I just like my hair short in the "wash & go" kind of style. I think that long hair would require to much maintenance. | |

| I've had my hair long and chopped it off and grown it back countless times over the years. It's just too much of a pain in the ass to deal with now, short hair is infinitely more comfortable. Plus if I grew it out now it would be primarily grey and just make me look even older.

| I never was able to grow it real long; best I ever did was the Steven Segal mini ponytail. And even that was enough of a pain in the ass to control that I decided it wasn't worth it. For the past 15 years or so I've done a 3 guard on the top and a 2 everywhere else and I'm good. Low maintenance hair is more important to me these days.
And like SD said, even though I'm not losing my hair, growing it out would just make me look more gray. Over the past 2 weeks, I've been finding out the same thing applies to my beard. I've started letting it grow out and it's almost all gray. Still trying to decide if I'm going to keep the beard or not. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I used to have very long hair.....cut it back in '97. Couldn't grow it back now if I tried....it's all fallen out. I just use a #1 guard on the clippers and buzz it all off. | |

| I had long hair past my shoulders for a couple years, but I cut it around 2006. Here in southern CA, it can get hot during summer and very uncomfortable. I have thought about growing it back though... | |

| I grew my hair from summer of 2010 to 2012, a little more than 2 years until it was past 10 inches and cut it for donation. Do I miss it? Not really. It was fun to have, but my hair is thinning out a bit from the front, so keeping it short is a better option. | |

| I've had hair so long to where I could tuck it into my pants. However, a few years ago, I grew resentful of keeping up with it, just because my wife grew up in the 80's liked it. Since then, she's gotten used to the shaved look & now prefers it. I still have a lions mane. Thick & rich, no bald or thinning eras. That's why I have to shave my head every single morning. _________________ | |

| Long hair is cool, it's the upkeep part that's annoying.

| Both will just get longer as my truck driving career rolls on. And no plans on cutting it in any future (though the beard may go after a few years). Even if I ever get real grey hair, I don't plan on cutting it. I don't mind looking older (or getting older for that matter). | |

| I did the long hair thing in college, but my hair grows out more than down. With a summer tan, I looked like a wild Samoan. I've kept it fairly short since then. Little shorter in summer, longer in winter.
I'm a graphic artist, so my company is pretty lenient on the grooming habits in the AV department. IT too. We've had long-hairs and weird-beards come & go.
No issuse with baldness and only a few grays starting to pop up now & then. If I could grow it long, I would, but it's too much hassle. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| I've had long hair for a couple years now, started growing it out the end of 2007. Reaches a little more than halfway down my back. I love having it and it's pretty easy to manage for me. I don't have any intentions of cutting it unless I start going bald, but that doesn't seem to be common in my family. | |

| I kept mine long from age 18 to 35, which was last year. The upkeep is too much of a pain in the neck. | |
