Tygers of Pan Tang is a good band, definitely.

Great band. Their first 3 are godly.

I hear you - they lost their record label after that, refusing to be a covers band that MCA wanted - and like that it was gone. They released some woeful drek after the first 3 albums under different line ups - but the star was well gone by that stage. Total shame.

Certainly not the best. As stated already, Tokyo Blade, Diamond Head, Satan, Blitzkrieg, and Angel Witch are to be considered for such a title, among others. But a kickass band nonetheless.

Decent enough band. But I only have a compilation (On The Prowl) to go by.

They were good, but I prefer Satan.

Somehow I don't really include Saxon, Priest and Maiden since they kind of moved out of that but if they count then it's Maiden first then Saxon.

Priest were not NWOBHM - established and recorded long before the movement.
