Astra - The Black Chord (Die Hard Black vinyl)
A bit lucky with this one as it sold out ages ago but Rise Above have found a box of 25 and put them up again. I'm really pleased because this is a great album and a beautiful set.
I also got a silver vinyl version of the new Uncle Acid single

This sort of thing is total bullshit. Publishers do it all the time, find a box of super-rare, very expensive books that were long thought sold out. Please. When you released something in a very limited number, you don't just happen to forget about a BOX of them. No frickin' way.

Agreed, I also got a couple of very, very sold out Alcest records that have been 'found' by Prophecy months after they have sold out. I pretty much know what the situation with the Astra record because they have done the same thing with the Die Hard edition on the new Blood Ceremony record, which is to keep a few back until all of the annoying eBay flippers have gone away and then sneak them out for anyone who can be bothered to check the second page in the webstore. 45 copies of DTP By a Thread DVD set were also "found" a couple of weeks ago but they sold out in a few minutes.
With Rise Above Records though, do I think that it's possible that they just lost a box of records? Absolutely, anyone who has bought from them will tell you that they are NOT the most organised people in the world!

I'm sure it happens from time to time, especially from a disorganized joint, but it happens way too often for that to be the case every time.

Yea, I can't seem to find the actual :30 second commercial, but they are featured in it.
I've been curious about these guys. They had a nice write-up in Classic Rock mag awhile back and I often see them come up as Amazon recommendations. I'd probably pick it up at some point. Sounds like something I'd dig.

Lotsa blues and soul. If you dig that stuff, then yeah, it's great.

The "soul" tag is probably the hesitation for me. Not sure why that is though.

It's not bad at all. I need to spend a little more time with it, but I enjoyed it well enough when I first picked it up a couple of weeks ago.

Gotta love Amazon's recommendation feature. I'd never heard of this band before Amazon recommended them. I downloaded "It's All Chewed Up, OK?" based on the samples and it was right up my catchy, power pop/punk alley so I just downloaded these EPs too.

Amazon recommendations will not stop hounding me until I buy a Fleet Foxes record! They are relentless.
I like Fleet Foxes but won't buy their stuff on principle now.
