I like the labels are pressing stuff on cassette again.
Cassettes make no sense, but I spent from 1986 to 1993 buying them, so I've got great nostalgia for them.

My cassette player broke in 1995, I never replaced it. I hauled around a few huge boxes of cassettes for several years afterward but eventually just tossed them into a dumpster.

That lineup of Monk's quartet features Johnny Griffin who is one of my favorite sax players from the era. I also think he was the best fit with Monk, they had a similar sense of humor and you can hear it in their work together.
There is also a second volume that goes along with Misterioso that was recorded the same night; Thelonious In Action.

There were only 100 made by Easy Rider Records so I bought one for my Orchid collection. I just thought it would be a cool collectible.

Sleep recently did a limited release of Dopesmoker on cassette (in a green shell of course), would have been cool to have but I couldn't justify spending money on it.

I've bought a couple over the years. Owl, for instance, released a cool cassette around Christmastime. It came in owl wrapping paper, tied off with a ribbon. For $5 and the MP3s, it was totally cool.
Other than stuff like that, I only buy old demos on cassette.

I was originally going to pass on Megadeth Supercollider and now I have two copies!
I bought the limited coloured vinyl with 7" single from a guy on eBay (very cheap too) but he had used the wrong picture and actually sent me the standard version. I wasn't that bothered as I only really bought it because I have all of the other albums on vinyl (apart from Cryptic Writings which is really expensive and Risk which didn't get a vinyl release) but I did contact the seller to moan a little bit, but I also told him not to worry because I had paid a fair price.
The seller was mortified and insisted on getting me the copy that i wanted and told me not to bother returning the other one, the new one arrived today so now i have two! Now all I need to do is give it a proper listen!

I went to a horror convention over the weekend and bought a couple pieces of audio.
Don Jamison was one of the guests there, so I talked to him and bought his stand-up CD. Nice dude.
And then, stoked on this, I bought the They Live score on vinyl. Death Waltz is a company that has been doing insanely beautiful reissues of horros scores on vinyl, with excellent artwork and packaing. I had been wanting to get one of their releases, and what better way to start the collection than with this excellent score. I have the CD, but you know...this is just so nice.

I was not aware they had a new jam out. Listening on Spotify. Fun, as expected.
I don't listen to power metal as much these days, but this is one band that I did come across a couple years ago and enjoyed pretty well.
In a sea of bands that sound exactly the same, Powerwolf kinda stands out a bit to me.

That They Live is awesome. Love that score, might have to see about tracking one down. How is that Don Jamieson? I find some of his zingers on TMS to be kinda funny. I've always meant to youtube his routine.

You can probably order the They Live from Death Waltz. They are a UK company, but I know they recently lowered their overseas shipping prices, so it might not be too high.
And the DJ CD is funny. I like him on TMS too. He gets a whole lot raunchier of course. So it's like, raunchy comedy, with random metal references. I liked it.
