What book are you currently reading?

Just finished Neon Angel by Cherie Currie it was a great read and any fan of the Runaways would enjoy it.

Still reading book 1 of the Game of Thrones series Im about 130 pages away from finishing that

The thing that struck me most was how far down Aerosmith was at one point in the mid-80s. Almost hard to believe today. Joe Perry having to score heroin from the Gunners who were living in a garage on Hollywood's skid row is hard to fathom today.

I don't when this started but I love the whole "we weren't a band, we were a gang" that is in every group bio. Based on the stories it's probably more than true in their case.

Also caused me to break out Lies for a listen. One In a Million is still my favorite song that I personally detest and hate. Guess I see it more in an ironic sense today. The whole guy comes from Indiana to LA and is mad about the other people who have come to LA from other places thing.

Compelling reading though.

Finished Stephen Pearcy's book last night. Didn't really learn anything new about Ratt history but it was a fast, funny, breezy read.

Im now reading a new release or newish release called "The Testing" books 2 and 3 arent out till next year but so far its a Hunger Games ripoff but Im still liking it heh

This massive (718 pages) book came out on Tuesday, and chronicles the entire history of Heavy Metal using interviews with hundreds of musicians. I have made it up to the NWOBHM, and I am really enjoying the book.

Finished Peter's book last night. Damn good read, the Cat Man pulls no punches when it comes to his former band mates, but is brutally honest about his own failings as well. Some really good/funny stories in here.

Slash - Slash w/ Anthony Bozza      One of those autobiographies you get done reading & ask youself...how's this guy still alive?  

"The Man With the Golden Touch: How the Bond Films Conquered the World" - in depth look at the James Bond film series and its rise to global phenomenon. It was a bit dry at first cuz the author spent way too much time digging into past literary and film spies that influenced the character, but it's finally starting to get interesting.

I just signed up to this book club yesterday. A new book will be picked once a month, read, and discussed. I'm gonna try my best to stick to the program, one book a month in nothing. First book is The Great Gatsby and starts today. Time to revisit a classic from HS days:

Its a good book and its what I expected, but a good read, especially for me, who usually reads about hard rock/metal/classic rock musicians, so always good to get a perspective from a pop band.
