"Personally speaking, this is the album I've been waiting to do since the first one [CATHEDRAL's 1991 debut, 'Forest Of Equilibrium']," says Dorrian. "It almost feels like we made our second album last in some respects. We actually recorded a lot more material but decided to sacrifice many of the tracks to make the overall album feel more complete in its nihilism.
"I don't like happy endings, I never have. So many good films are ruined by happy endings and I didn't want that to be the case with CATHEDRAL. It was my dream to bring everything full circle."
Looking foward to it.

I love Forest of Equilibrium. That's good to hear they are incorporating elements of that era.

I like all of their albums to various degrees, but I really enjoyed their last few when they incorporated a more prog-rock influence to their music.
Sounds like this one will be going back to their roots though and dumping some of that newer sound. I'm fine with that too.

I really like this album, it just came in today and I've spun it 3 times. So far 'Pallbearer' is my fave.

I really like it too. Just wish it was more dark.

I have the The Ethreal Mirror, The Garden Of Unearthly Delights, and The Guessing Game. While I like all of them, and maybe just the nostalgia factor, The Ethreal Mirror blows them all way IMO (even got it as a t-shirt) Going back to the old sound for inspiration has my interest piqued. Plus that song sounds good!

I doubt this will be the last album by these cats.
It's so solid, I can see them coming back in a year or so.

This one still hasn't made it to Spotify, so I forgot about it. Will have to see if I can sample it on Youtube.

I miss the prog-rock influence their last few albums had. This new album is more straight-forward doom. Not sure how I feel about that at the moment. Might take some time before this one settles in for me.

Guessing game was OK but was a bit too soft (at least in the first disc). A mellow Cathedral just doesn't appeal to me for some reason. I preferred Garden Of Unearthly Delights.

I was glad they returned to a more classic sound for their final album. I did enjoy their more proggy stuff too though.
