Yah, you can definitely hear the progressive elements on the debut, but aside from a smattering here and there it's mostly just really good tech/prog thrash. Even Lying In Wait, the second album, had a lot of thrash influences hanging around. Now on the 3rd album, yah they went full progressive...

Keep your pen or pencil handy, cause I ain't done yet! I'll post a few more later on tonight. I've just gotta head to work right now, so I don't have time to dig it all up.
Plus, there were at least a dozen or so I thought of right off the top of my noodle that I WANTED to post but couldn't find sound samples for... I'll probably just post those as a list at the end.

Atomic's Nuclear Thrash is my favorite "foreign language" album. Even not knowing the language I still understand it. Great stuff.
Someone needs to issue those Mottek albums on disc.
Here are a few more I dig (forgive me if some of these have already been mentioned)

As I said to ToB earlier in the thread, it's not really about winning or showing off. Just wanted to throw out some really good thrash that people may not have heard of. There is SO much good stuff out that there deserves more attention.

Fatal Violence was released on CD. I used to own it.

Let's just be honest....MOST of the great thrash is the OBSCURE thrash! I, personally, rather listen to Zoetrope - Amnesty over anything most of the Big 8-12 commonly known bands have ever released.

I have that Dread CD and have seen them live several times. They commanded the stage! Unfortunately they were so much better on stage than that CD lets on. I just don't think the songs are quite there on the CD.

So that Sunshine release is legit? I always assumed it was a boot of some kind. I've always been tempted to get the vinyl releases but for the price I like to see what I'm getting with my vinyl.

I'd be really interested to see what they follow it up with. Short comings aside I still really like that disc.
Here's one I had playing doing cardio this morning. About broke the the pedals off the bike. Blistering and angry - just the way I like my thrash.

Oh, I'll pay that! I'll reach for a CD from the lesser known acts just as quickly as I will once from Exodus, or Kreator, or... It really is a shame that a LOT of GREAT albums got relegated to obscurity for whatever reason (small record label, regional issues (a lot of the ex-Soviet bloc artists), "weariness" of the scene, etc).

Sunshine release? Don't know anything about that one. I used to own the original release on CD by Sucker Records, distributed by Rough Trade from back in 1990.

Maybe not completely obscure, but worth mentioning:
I'll give you the first one, but the other three I think you would have a hard time convincing people that these are thrash metal releases.
Divulgence are death metal, best as I can tell. I have "Future Seed" on CD and it sure sounded closer to death metal than what I would call thrash.
I've not heard the latest Teramaze, but their last two albums before this one weren't even close. The third album was horrible alternative rock and their sophomore release was melodic/progressive heavy metal. First one was sort of progressive thrash metal. I'll have to check out Anhedonia.
Deuteronomium are all over the map musically and call themselves "Death and Roll". I've always had a hard time getting into them because they can't seem to find a sound and stick with it. I'll have to check out Deathbed Poetry, but if they've gone thrash metal, then that's another stylistic jump from their black/death days.
