I finally completed my PC 69 collection (minus live releases) with the recent addition of
Change. While I do see a slight change in direction, I don't think it's the dog some folks made it out to be.
If I followed them from the very beginning and got this album as a new release in it's natural progression, I could see the disappointment from fans. I've certainly done that with other 80's bands that tried to remain relevant through the 90's. And I've also revisited some of those and found them to be quite enjoyable, if different.
Change is just another fine album in the Pink Cream 69 catalog in my opinion. Different, but still good. Not sure I get the grunge tag attempt either. Darker in tone maybe? Either way, I'm not confusing these guys with Soundgarden or Pearl Jam.
