Went to the Wolf's Den to see this show. Which means it's free. Unlike the last show I saw at this venue there was a line. A very very long line but we learned one thing from one of the employees at the casino. If the line goes past the bar then chances are you are not going to get seats. We were a good distance from the bar thanks to Jenn's friend Tara. The seats were good, a bit cramped I felt like I was practically in the aisle. The set went for about 90 minutes. No Encore but from the setlist above this entry you can see that alot of songs were played. From all eras of her career. The show opened up with Elton John's "The Bitch Is Back" which is a bonus track on her latest release. I will admit that I only knew two songs by her both older songs and the ones that everybody knows. Ironically she closed the set with those two songs. The cool part is I got to hear alot of her solo stuff for the first time and for me hearing a song live is very different than hearing a song for the first time off a CD. I liked every song she did but I think the ones that stood out the most to me was "Livin Like a Runaway" and "Under The Gun" which from what she said before she went into the song is that this song was used in the Gary Sinese movie "Under the Gun" During "Back To The Cave" Lita and the guitarist for whose name I cannot remember at the moment broke out into a Jam session which was very cool. Throughout the set Lita interacted with the crowd in between each song. She handed out ALOT of guitar picks to the people standing in front of the stage. From where I was sitting I couldn't get any decent pictures they were all sorta blurry. One thing Lita did mention during the show was that this summer there will be a live album released recorded during her recent tour with Poison and Def Leppard , she also mentioned about touring this year to places like Australia and the US. Along with all of that she also mentioned that a book which I believe has the same title as the album "Livin Like A Runaway" which will be a future addition to my library. Which as a degressing thought I still need to read "Neon Angel" which is Cherie Currie's book which I own.. Anyways... "Close My Eyes Forever" Is a song I've not heard in awhile but I love it. Though hearing it live with Ozzy would have been a real treat. Ah well. Still a good song. Through out the set there was moments of "Marty Hit my box" Marty was her bass player and her guitar box was by him there was one song she was about to go into but no sound came out until the box was stepped on. Which I found kinda comical but you can tell that the entire band just enjoyed jamming. From what Lita said this was their second time coming to the Wolf's Den. So I am hoping down the road she will be back.
At the end of the show, she came out and signed stuff for fans. I got my CD signed, my Fiancee' took my linear notes and had Lita sign those. Which was a good thing because Lita's marker was running dry so my signed album looks like its hollow which is cool but its signed by Lita Ford!! We got in line early and where we were sitting we were near the front of the line. We also got pictures taken with her but Lita didnt pose for any I think they were more concerned with moving the line along, which unlike the Sixpence show they took more time to talk to the fans. So I dont hold that against Lita. But now I can say I met a member of the Runaways.... I also told my Fiancee that I should start a signed CD collection given that I have a few already, Lita's being the newest addition I also have a signed copy of the latest Sixpence album and a few signed albums from friend's bands as well... It was fun and I look forward to my next trip to the Wolf's Den......
