Anthrax Anthem EP to be released on 03/19/13

Anthrax's cover EP - Anthem will be released on 03/19 and it's been expanded to 8 tracks.

I see it does know, but when I first opened your thread it didn't have the url in pareth. at the end and appeared incomplete and didn't highlite when clicked on...oh well

I'd love it to be good but I hate Joeys vocals these days.

Could be interesting but I'm not real big on cover albums. I prefer it when bands do them with obscure covers;not the case here.

I'm glad it's being released as a stand alone ep. The inclusion of 'Crawl' (twice!) seems kinda pointless, but whatever. Can't wait to hear it.

I like cover EPs. I like Anthrax. I'm looking forward to this EP.

Yeah. Anthrax has never been a must-have band for me, but I'm much happier that they went back to the original EP idea. I'm sick and tired of band re-releasing album with bonus stuff.

If 10 or 20 years have passed, no problem; but the new label habit of re-releasing something right after it was first released is annoying.

Band sounds good on Anthem, someone probably had to give Joey oxygen after that one, he's barely holding on by his fingernails trying to handle that vocal part.

Guess they won't be adding that one to their live set-list anytime soon. Geddy can't even hit those notes anymore, can he?

No, I doubt he could have done it in the mid-80s either, his voice lowered considerably over the years (he was only 21 when Fly By Night was recorded). They haven't played that song in concert since the 1970s, the only time it made a partial appearance was in the "R30 Suite" which was an instrumental medley they opened their 30th anniversary shows with.

Welp, he does a better job than I do, so he gets a pass. I'm still looking forward to this release.

They should have picked a different song more in Belladonna's range, IMO.

Probably, Geddy can't even hit those notes anymore. I would have gone with a non-Rush song personally. Either way, it's not like this song is gonna show up in their live set-lists anytime soon anyway.

I say take it for what it is, an ep of covers that they ran though in a weekend for sh*ts & giggles.
