Ghost - Infestissumam - The packaging of this album sucks. It's as bad as the original packaging on Ozzy's Black Rain album.
I've also heard from numerous sources that the CD mastering of that Ghost album is atrocious, brickwalled and distorted. Luckily reviews of the LP edition have been very good.
Boo! I have only listened to it once, but this album is the most "pleasant" sounding "Hail Satan" record in history. Very gentle yet sinister.
Yeah, I hear nothing wrong with the production. Normal people should have no problems with it.

I tried to sample the album on Spotify but it was so distorted I had to bail after 2 songs.
I heard "Year Zero" on Liquid Metal. It sounded like a mix between the last record, Bauhaus and an Italian horror movie score.
I liked it.
In October, I may get the full album. Not summer music.

I got the Ghost cd in the mail today, but its the Scandinavian version. The booklet is nice, with a bunch of drawn pictures for each song. I guess the US version is different. The deluxe version probably has the same booklet as mine. Also did anyone get the deluxe version? I thought thats what I was getting but at the time there wasn't anything about a deluxe version so I just ended up with the regular one, anyway a friend of mine sent me the bonus track (not I'm a Marionette) and its really not even worth being a bonus track. The music just repeats and he repeats the same three lines over and over again for a few minutes. Kinda stupid. I've been waiting to listen to this on cd, since I've only heard the mp3s of the album, which did seem to sound like it was a little loud in some spots but I didn't think much about it since its mp3s. I probably won't hear it on the cd, and I'll have the record by tomorrow so maybe I'll make a comparison, but like I say don't hear all these things that people complain about. I guess I need robot ears?

Weird. My CD does sound fine, although I am sure it's compressed, just like everything else released in the last 16-17 years. I will eventually pick up the vinyl too.

I'm going to wait until I can score an LP copy.
I checked the DR database and they have the Secular Haze CD single listed as having 5db of dynamic range while the LP version has 11db.
I think the material is good, so to me it's worth seeking out the best sounding version I can find.

Indeed. I am hoping to score a vinyl copy at Record Store Day on Saturday. It's weird, but I find Papa's voice very soothing. Ha!

Just went to Divebomb's site and ordered. I have been wanting to replace my old, long gone vinyl copy of Hypertrace for years, but the CD has always been too expensive.

My all time favorite movie. Seriously. Because of that I also really love that album. Reading a book on Queen (Is This The Real Life) the book mentions that the band was all hyped to get involved with the project but once they got off tour other .... umm things caused them to get bored with it so May just had to scrap it together as best he could by himself. Would've loved to see what they would have come up with for it if they had stayed focused on the project.

Are you buying the digital versions? They're like a buck less than the CD versions.

For this one i am. I didn't for the first two but after the 2.99 shipping, IMO it's just not worth buying the CD given the packaging.

I ended up getting the CD copy. With shipping it was only about $1.50 more than the digital version.
