Forgot that the other night while going to bed I listened to:

PLAYLISTS 2013 - Page 14 Fountain-of-tears-fountain-of-tears

Such a mellow, beautifuly melodic band despite having members from Sardonyx, Beleiver, and Sacrament. I know a lot of people hated it because of that fact, but I love it though it is more or less an EP. Too bad the full length follow-up (though better mixed and produced) failed to hold me like this one.

Those are recent pickups! I was digging through the 10" lp stuff at Dimple and found those two, realised that I had heard him mentioned and quickly snatched them up.

REALLY good stuff!!!!

The Sarah Vaughn is on a red translucent vinyl that I found at Goodwill(also have a cathedral organ record on blue translucent vinyl). It made me realise that colored vinyl has been a round for a while.

Didn't know that Quincy Jones had been doing stuff since the early 60s, either.

Earlier than that. Quincy started out as a trumpet player but was forced to quit due to health reasons. I have a 1955 Clark Terry album where the first track "Swahili" is a Quincy Jones arrangement.
