Incredibly beautiful and well written music. Not very memorable from just one listen but this album is a grower, not a shower so needs more listens. To give a fair ranking I will have to listen to this for the next few days.

Still in the running for the top 5. This album doesn't get stale and only improves with each listen.

I just ordered a Best Of comp. I have this one and Lights In The Night on CD and I had a couple others on vinyl so I decided a Best Of CD would be a good first purchase for 2013.

That first Queen album is still my second favorite album by them (I like Queen II slightly more). I will always remember the first time I heard it and being totally blown away...

I have to agree that Queen II has a slight over the edge over the debut. That being said that first self titled album still sounds incredible, this year marking its 40th anniversary of its release.

I frustrated a local Lehigh University DJ back in the 70s when I was about 15 living in PA and I kept calling to request the song "Great King Rat". After about the 4th call one night the guy answering the phone said "If we play it, will you stop calling?"

They did and I stopped.
