Did you get the whole box set? That looks like a cool history of prog with some popular standards mixed with some obscure oddities. Too spendy for me, but looks interesting.

Yes, I have the entire box. It is a good overview (some heavyweights like King Crimson are missing due to licensing issues).
There is a similar set (now sadly OOP) that was released in the late 90s called "Supernatural Fairy Tales" that makes an excellent companion to this box.

Supernatural Fairy Tales
Not a very original LP title though
Really like this record though
I think the box set was named in tribute to that record. Do you have that Art record on vinyl? I have a CD re-issue and it's mixed just awful. Makes me wonder if the sound men had no idea how to mix something that heavy in 1967 (one of the very loudest bands out there then) or if the poor mix is peculiar to the CD?

The source of the material is a cassette dub from the session reels, decent quality but a little noisy. The songs are in varying stages of development, fairly close to the LP versions but distinct enough to make it an entertaining listen.
Maybe one of these days Warner Bros. will locate the multi-tracks (they are currently lost) and they can do a full remix of the album as Iommi has wanted to do for many years.
