| My thread on Thin Lizzy is about the closest I've come. I'm mates with the drummers son, that's the nearest to fame I've ever come in my humble existence. Oh, and AC/DC were recording over here in Ireland in the early nineties and a friend of mine was doing work experience for the Litten Lane studio. She hates HM, but knows I'm an AC/DC fanatic, went into the recording room and asked for their autographs for me. She said they were dead sound to her. I got an AC/DC photograph with their autographs in gold marker which is cool to have. And I've met a few heavy metal musicans over the years playing Dublin, most a major let down, but Ozzy and Zac Wylde were totally cool. Ozzy did a warm up FOR their world tour in 1991 in a little venue that only holds 500 people, I managed to get tickets for both nights. The band featured Mike Inz as a stand in. | |

| I'm next-door neighbors with Glenn Danzig. He's been over for a couple of BBQs. We played a few rounds of cornhole once. Take that as you wish. | |

| I graduated from high school with Steve Brown, the guitarist of the hair-metal band Trixter. He was a nice guy, never thought much of his band though. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I work at a sports arena, so I frequently see pro athletes, past & present, walking the halls. And some broadcasters. I wouldn't go so far to say I know them more than saying "Hey, how ya doin?" as I walk past. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Steve Brown, Still funny all the same knowing somebody who had their time in the limelight. My wife knew some bloke who hung out with her son, can't think of his name, got a break as an actor in the States, some hearthrob TV sitcom vibe - anyhoo, he OD'd. A couple of years ago that. Talk about being handed the chance of a great life like that and blowing it!!!! I must ask her what his name was. | |

I rode motorcycles with Jeff Kieth quite alot after Tesla broke up and he was married to my cousin for a short time. Met Frankie Hannon through my jam sessions with Tommy Mc Clendon (UFO fame) and I grew up with guys in Emerald and Bill Menchen. Know los of the guys in bands associated with Sanctuary. I have a songwriting credit w/ Steve Brown. Cool! Don't get me wrong, I always rooted for 'em cuz they were local boys and Steve was a cool dude (I bought their first album, just like everybody else in Paramus, NJ at the time, haha) but I'm not what you'd call a hardcore fan by any means. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I'm good friends with the film director Jim Sheridan's family. He's met everybody, and well entertaining to listen to his ancedotes on the set. He's well known these shores for Irish movies, and had a hit and miss time in the States. He did the awful 50 cent movie, and an another abomanation with Daniel Craig and Naomi Watts - he said his hands were tied with hollywood, and, I don't think he'll be doing anynmore movies in the States: the execs re-wrote all the scenes and knowing him as I do, some serious choice words would have been said. | |

Yeah, me neither. They're good at what they do...but I was on to the heavier stuff by then and they never had a chance to sink in. The song we co-wrote was for Liberty N Justice ("Devil In The Details") and it's been used now on a couple of E! Entertainment shows...pretty cool. _________________ FINAL SIGN

| I don't know any of one famous, had a few beers with Chuck from Death, talked about Deep Purple ( he was a major fan)
David Vincent of Morbid Angel worked at a store called Ace's Records back in the day, he was a cool guy, we were not friends but spoke about Black Sabbath, he was a major Tony Martin fan.
Was at Glenn what's his face of Deicide at a party, he was moody but cool, spoke to me for a bit, til he realized he did not know me and asked me in his death metal stare 'Who the **** are you again?"
Meet the four dudes of Dokken at a recording signing.
Meet Alice Cooper at an event for 98 Rock
When I was 12 or 13 Keith Kollins of Savatage gave me a single of the band when they were known as Avatar.
Porn star Nina Hartley was doing a promo for some sleaze club at Ybor and bummed a cig off me, but sadly did not ask me to be in her next movie, her loss
I volunteered for a Presidental Campagin back in 1990's, and for two seconds meet then Governor Bill Clinton.
Being Tampa the capitol of death metal, pawn shops and strip joints, meet a porno star named Belladonna, I had no idea who she was, but friend informed she was famous, meet her in Ybor City for about 5 seconds. She was so high, she passed out on the dance floor, where some gorilla dude picked her up put her over his shoulder and out the door they went. Later saw one of her movies, and holy hell, I was both amazed and appalled .

| I’ve met quite a few musicians in Dublin as it’s a small place. Here are my experiences of them.
Hetfield: Horrible person
Hammet: Bought me a beer, but forgot to put me on guest list. Overall, decent bloke - he was in the dog house at the time because he brought his wife on tour.
Cliff Burton: They don’t come more down to earth. Walked around Dublin with him. He died less than 2 weeks later.
Jason Newsted. Off his face completely on drugs - how he got through customs is a miracle.
Anthrax: Revolting experience.
Danzig: I was being a douche bag, so can’t comment there.
Slayer: They were coming out of a sound check and this kid asks for an autograph - their tour manager punched him in the face. I jumped in to protect the kid and all hell let loose. Slayer got rushed into the tour bus, while utter mayhem was going on outside with their roadies and techs, and that twat who hit the kid. As for the band, they are not very brave, put it that way - though a mate of mine hung out with Kerry King earlier on that day and said he was solid.
Ozzy, Zak: Cool dudes. My mate and I met them on the street and they yapped to us for ages about everything and anything.
MOD: Give the word douchebag, a new meaning.
Onslaught: (met them a few times) Steve Grimmet gives the word sfincter a whole new meaning; Nigel Rocket sucked as well, but Jim Hinder (bassist) was totally cool. He took me into the venue to play his new bass. That’s mid-beer. I told him I played a little, and he puts down his drink and says come with me.
AC/DC: My friend met them, she said they were really nice to her and signed autographs for her to give to me.
Accept, they were killing each other at the time, so impossible to say. The new singer had just glassed the guitarist in the face and they came piling out of the venue fists flying. They were supposed to be supporting WASP that night - but they broke up instead. It was 1989. Official line is the drummer hurt his back that’s why the tour got canned. Trust me, that is not the truth, I was there to witness everything.
Now, there is more, can’t think of, off hand.
Oh, and a mate of mine’s band supported Iron Maiden over here in 1994, and he said they were well sound.

I answered in the other thread ya asked It is artwork done by David Mann, best known as the "centerfold" guy for Easy Riders magazine back in the 70's. I knew and hung out with Pantera when I lived in Arlington, Tx. They were still "Def Leppard with Randy Rhoads" back then. Did some session work at Pantego Sound for a band called Pendulum. Only talked with them a couple of times after they got famous. _________________

Pantera, the bass player called himself something rocker, and the hairstyles on them. I never liked Pantera TBH, I hate that vocal style, its like a drill in the head. And that singer!!!!!!! What a dork. Did u see him at Download yelling at the crowd to stop eyeballing him. What an utter clown. I wish he'd played over in Ireland and pull a stunt like that; we're not as easy going as our English cousins, ha, ha. Axle Rose found that out the hard way a year or two ago with antics. He arrives 2 hours late, acts the twat on stage and got a bottle of piss thrown at him. He starts whining and gets another bottle of piss thrown at him. I didn't see the show myself, I can think of better ways to spend 80 usd in your money, than watch a fat hasbeen with session musicians posing as GNR. I bet u have some stories about him (THE Pantera lad). I'd say he's a bit mental, is he? I watched a documentary on Pantera and he's on it, and its all about him. Egotistical twat. I felt sorry for Dimebag and his brother waiting for this idiot to get over himself and rejoin the band. It never happpens and Dime gets murdered, and Alsemo is all, he's crying the most, and basically the funeral should be in his honour (that was the vibe coming off him) - and how he had the most painful back operation in the history of mankind, and yada, yada. God almighty, I can't stand that clown. Down's new ep is actually brilliant - as he decides to actually sing for a change - but I have to pretend its not him. Send me a funny story about him, I bet u have hundreds.

| I met Anselmo once and he was a complete jerk.
Conversely I stood beside Dimebag and Vinny in the front row at a King's X show in 2003 and they were totally cool. It was fun watching those two brothers sing along with every song. |
