On the edge of metal

Hey everyone. I just registered for the boards and I just wanted to let you all know al little about me. My name is Brian Marshall and I live in Central Florida and I am completely obsessed by music, metal especially. I have been a fan since I was 9 after I heard Quiet Riot's Metal Health album. (I know it's more like metal-lite, but hey I was 9!)
I like at least one band in every sub genre of metal (rap metal is NOT a sub-genre!) and have a special place in my heart for thrash metal and christian metal. Jimmy P. and the big "D" has helped me through some rough times.
I am currently trying to amass my dream metal CD collection and have alot of the big ones that I have been seeking. There are a few that I am in need of though. But that's another thread!
My favorite artist of all time is Alice Cooper. There is not a more perfect album than "Welcome To My Nightmare". The man was the originator of so many things. Just ask Blackie Lawless!
But Alice isn't technically a "metal" artist, although there are definete metal overtones to his music, i.e. "Halo of Flies".

on the "edge of metal"? that's hard to say because metal covers such a vast spectrum. some people might say something like Motley Crue, while others would say Soundgarden, etc etc. i like all kinds of stuff, not just "metal", but all of it hard music. punk, hardcore, grunge, hard rock, nu-metal, metalcore & even bands like Stuck Mojo (rap metal?).

my faves will always be the more extreme stuff though. death, black, grind, thrash, doom, etc.
