| I'm much more into southern rock than country. Tesla always had a nice southern rock edge. | |

| I thought the idea of Keith doing this sounded like something that might work. He has a cool jagged quality to his voice that could be interesting in a country setting. The samples to my ear just sound so generic without any attitude to them.
I find modern country to be more pop than what I would consider "country". There is this couple that comes to the gym and puts on CMT. I swear every video looks the same and the songs aren't much different. There are some cowboy hats though.
My taste in country tends be with the Dwight Yoakams and Mavericks type.

Agreed. Pop Rock in tight jeans and cowboy hats. It's not a coincidence that the ladies (and some men, I suppose) who casually liked 80's hair pop metal are now the fans of modern country.

| My problem with modern country is not the music, but the vocals. The majority of them are too generic. All the men sound the same and all the women sound the same. Old country, vocals had variety and individuality. The generic country vocals annoy the hell out of me. Of course my love of old country is mostly nostalgic. If I grew up with it I like it, if not I tolerate it. Country 90's and beyond... ... | |

| I haven't checked out the clips yet, but I will. I enjoy country. Not a die hard, but I like my share of stuff ranging from classic country to the more current alt country. | |

It's because they're all being run through the same plug-in's... _________________ FINAL SIGN

It's because they're all being run through the same plug-in's... Anyone with an interest in rock n' roll and country should, in my opinion, check out Ryan Bingham. He wrote a lot of the original music (and performed some) for Crazy Heart (great movie, great soundtrack). He's part outlaw country, part alt country, part southern rock country...and he's only in his like early 30s or so.
