Is there anybody with a large Scorpions discography who could help me recover many of their albums I lost? I really like those albums, but I was unemployed last year without unemployment money and had to sell a lot of my CDs. I have a flash drive I could send which shouldn't cost to much to mail back (for those in the States of course).
I wouldn't say I have a large Scorps discography but I've got quite a few. What do you need?
That's OK, Spec is going to hook me up. BTW, I forgot about that 69 Eyes song. I'll try to get it out soon.

I've mentioned Soulseek before. Would be good to get a group of people using it.

Today:
Fullforce - Next Level North Mississippi Allstars - Hernando Revocation - Chaos Of Forms Therion - Les Fleurs Du Mal (w/Bonus Track)
Someone messed up and put that Therion disc out a day early. Hope it's not the "nuclear turd" Toho says it is. Haha.

I know I shouldn't be buying CDs with just unemployment, but my itch to add to my collection needs to be scratched. I guess I can use upcomming Christmas money as an excuse (that and the fact that once I start working again, my dad is going to be monitoring my purchases closely-I know at 33 it is my business only but he's letting me live here rent free and is paying for all groceries). I went to Movie Trading Company:
$11.99 New
Now I'm just missing Follow The Blind for all their full lengths. $9.99 New
$6.99
I now have every Stryper album from the debut to Against The Law.
$5.99
The third album purchased after being introduced to me by Kmorg's comps from the last swap before the current one (the other two being Doctor Butcher and Equinox). $3.99
Wasn't familiar with them, but I could tell they were glam/sleeze and it was cheap. Turns out it is Toho approved (one of our residential glam/sleez fanboys) and after listening to some samples, I'm sure I'll like it.

What don't you like about it. The French vocals will probably be hard to get used to, especially since I'll giggle every time "Poupee De Cire, Poupee De Son" comes on because in France saying "poopy" means "doll."

I just thought it didn't work at all. "Operatic pop songs sung in French in a metal context"? Pass. I'm real disappointed too because after The Gothic Turd, they almost returned to form with Sitra Ahra but then they dropped this.

Excellent stuff!!!!!!!
Come ti va in ruva alla citta is more rock than prog, though.

That George Harrison is great. I avoided it forever since the hit song off that just annoyed me. Still don't care for it but the rest is fantastic. Think those Maiden discs are highly under-rated too.

So I listened to the first nine songs today while out running errands, and I thought it was excellent. I know on paper it sounds like a train wreck, but I think, at least on those nine songs, it was done really well.
One thing I did find myself getting sick of was the female vocals. They dominate every song and it's all operatic singing. It started to get a bit tedious. Only "Dis-moi Poupee" had a different style, which was oddly a kind of whispery rasp that somehow worked. Wish there was more variety in the female vocals, though. But aside from that, I thought it was great.

That might be what I didn't like. I only listened to snippets of the leaked tracks on YouTube and every one I listened to had those shrieky operatic vocals. And I'm not against operatic female vocals; I'm a Tarja fanboy. I just found the vocals on these really shrill and annoying.
At any rate, glad you like it but I'll still take a pass on this one and hope Therion one day return to the music on Deggial, Vovin or hopefully even Sirius B.

Yeah, I think some more standard kind of singing would have done much better on this one. We'll see how the last half of the album works.
