I picked them all up really cheap too, but I'm not gonna go nuts tracking down ever single note they've put to wax. I've got enough of their stuff to keep me entertained for now.
Is the band still together? It just dawned on me that they might not even exist anymore.
I can't find anything that says they broke up, but their last album came out like five or six years ago. So probably.

This is a 2 disc comp. I have all his albums but I'm too lazy to rip my own best of so I bought this.

I hope so too DB. I thought that thing was a real turd. Just for comparison, I went back and listened to some of their older stuff to see if it was them or me. I think it's them.

As much as I enjoy The 69 Eyes, I think they're vastly overrated, even their early stuff. They're decent, but that's about it.
Nothing wrong with that, of course. =)

I thought they were really hitting their stride. "Angels" was really good and I thought "Back In Blood" was great but I think this new one makes HIM sound like Iron Maiden by comparison. Lots of keyboards upfront in the mix, weird synthetic drum FX and totally unmemorable songs. Might be my biggest disappointment of the year.

Yesterday:
Phillip Phillips - The World From The Side Of The Moon (w/Bonus Tracks) Project 86 - The Midnight Hour (Digital EP)
Yeah, I bought an American Idol winner's CD. Never thought that would happen, but this dude is excellent. Of course, it's obvious his biggest influence is Dave Matthews Band.
Surprisingly, though industry songwriters had their hands in the mix, as one would expect with an Idol winner's contracted album, Phillips solely wrote many of the songs and co-wrote nearly all the others. It's really good.
And that might be the coolest cover of "Wicked Game" I've ever heard. Looking forward to when the label dumps him and he regains full artistic control.
