Subject: Bands that get undeserved hate Sun May 20, 2012 6:23 pm
After listening to Six Feet Under's Undead, it made me wounder. Why do people hate SFU so much? The entire project was based around being simplistic death metal, and proving that you don't need speed or blast beats to play death metal, yet thats what everyone seems to complain about. Then I see complaints about the lyrics being cheesy and nothing but death and gore, yet Cannibal Corpse still gets away with this, and without any real complaints. In all honesty, I just feel like a good bit of people feel the need to berate Chris Barnes for no real good reason!
Anyway, I was wondering if there are any more bands that you believe receive undeserved hate.

Dragonforce. Their last album was horrendous but the first two are really good.

I agree but I also liked Inhuman Rampage. After that they really went to sucksville and from what PDR tells me the new one is no better.

I always thought of SFU as "death metal for people who don't like death metal". Personally, there are other bands who play a more 'simplistic' form of DM---but they just do it better. Such as Bolt Thrower and Obituary (imo).

SFU always were basically Obituary clones, just with a different styled vocalist. doesn't make them bad.

I'm not really seeing it. Maybe its just because I haven't listened to Bolt Thrower in forever. I do remember loving mercenary though.

I've never actually met someone who didn't like SFU, but I've read tons of YouTube comments hating on them. That's all the hate on SFU I've ever seen.
