Be careful with Arena though as their albums are quite expensive.
And since we're going toward the prog rock stuff, check out Enchant.
That's only because you're the worst bargain shopper ever!

Two discs I picked up today:
Fantastic albums. Headrush has Damien Wilson on vocals, one of my favorite vocalists.

Nice! What were those other two you mentioned the other day? I had the thread open for most of the day, meaning to check them out. But then I closed it and totally forgot about it until just now.

Well, that worked out well. I bought all three Tetrafusion albums on CD, paid for the two Shattered Skies digital-only downloads, asked Locky to buy their EP on CD since they're local to him, and the only thing I didn't pay for was the Dead Station album.
You: Hey, check out these free albums! Me: Thanks. Somehow I managed to spend $29.90.

Need more Vanishing Point fans here..... though they would be more prog metal mixed in with a lot of melodic/AOR influenced metal...........totally fine by me and I know a few others here. Also one of my favorite vocalists in this band. Keep in mind too this band is not 'progressive', but simply shares a similar 'prog' sound to some of the bands here..

Generally speaking, I'm not sure how some of these bands these days get called "prog".
WATCHTOWER is prog. Some stuff that I hear called such these days is just watered down Journey/Queensryche.
What characteristics define "prog" to most these days?

Absolutly love VP! I've sent them on comps I've sent to various MoM guys, but the only ones I heard anything from was Kmorg (who liked it) and Toho (who thought it was too proggy). What I want to know is where the hell are they? They were suposed to have a new album years ago but I've heard virtually nothing.

I agree with you completely, I think about 90% of the time the term "progressive" gets used incorrectly.
It seems if a band uses keyboards they automatically get labeled as "prog".
Bands like "Atheist" or "Meshuggah" are more progressive than many of the bands in this thread.

Prog is defined by how arrogant and self-centered the listener is.
