A new Beardfish record?! That's right!!!
The band just announced '+4626-COMFORTZONE'!
The follow-up to 2013's 'The Void', and now they are pleased to reveal that their brand new eighth studio album, '+4626-COMFORTZONE' will be released in North America on the 27th of January 2015.
The band had this to say about the new album: "The comfort zone is the invisible protective suit of negative thinking, almost like an entity of itself. It's been with you since birth: your parents and your teachers and your friends and your neighbours all teaching you the way the world works - this is how it is and will be and there's nothing you can do about it. The negative vibe is like a voice living inside of you, a companion through life. With time you start to like that voice and the place it takes you to: your comfort zone. I'm so sick and tired of it and I want to address it and maybe in that way start to work my way out of it"
The full track-listing for the album is as follows:
1. The One Inside Part 1 - Noise In The Background 2. Hold On 3. Comfort Zone 4. Can You See Me Now 5. King 6. The One Inside Part 2 - My Companion Throughout Life 7. Daughter Whore 8. Ode To The Rock 'N' Roller 9. If We Must Be Apart (A Love Story Continued) 10. The One Inside Part 3 - Relief
Amazing band! Can't wait.
nice. I have really enjoyed their albums, although I do have to admit I have not obtained The Void yet.

S.D. got me into Beardfish; what a great sound. The two albums I heard hooked me instantly and kept me in all the way to the end. This is good news.

Not traditional prog at all, but pretty great modern stuff. Singer sounds a bit like Geddy Lee at times.

I imagine most if not all of you have never heard of this band. I discovered them ages ago (maybe through CD Baby's $5 sale?) and they're awesome! It's been nearly a decade since they last released an album, but a new one is coming...
They're not extremely proggy, but their style is in that new modern prog area, along with a number of other genres. Check them out, yo!
Though since the last five posts (now six) in this thread are mine, going back to 2015, I'd say you turds don't much like this thread. Haha.

I am vaguely familiar with envinity. A friend of mine is a huge prog fan and owns so many albums by bands no one has ever heard of (possibly even in their homelands!). Good music indeed.

I've been getting into prog rock here recently, especially Rush, Asia, and Peter Gabriel era Genesis. I'm also browsing random bands I've never heard of, one of those being Nektar.

All good shit there! I think Rush is probably the most important band in the history of prog-metal, because most early progressive metal (Dream Theater, Watchtower, some Fates Warning, etc.) is just one part Rush and one part Iron Maiden.
Every time someone mentions Rush, I have to talk about The Great Discord. Not because they sound like Rush, but because the singer reminds me of Geddy Lee at times. And because they're so f*cking good!
And because no one ever listens to my impeccable suggestions. Haha.

Holy cow!! This is good. I'm also digging the band's logo.

Dude, they're amazing. One of the best bands I've heard in ages.
