| I appreciate the GI timeline, and good point about the elevated demographic, but I was mainly referring to the Aerosmith demographic. | |

| When I was kid G.I Joee's were taller than wigwam knee socks and had fuzzy beards. They also loved to be left naked in my sister's Barbie's house. To bad "sweet emotion" hadn't been written/recorded yet. _________________ | |

I had that on tape long ago, but never upgraded it. Probably should someday, just for the Dangerous Toys song. I only have a handful of soundtracks anymore. 'Singles' and 'Less Than Zero' are probably the only 2 that get much play from me these days. Although I did just break out Decline of Western Civilization: the Metal Years this week for sh*ts & giggles. I have quite a few film scores (Bernard Herrmann, John Barry, Jerry Goldsmith, etc), but I've never really been a fan of the "song collection" soundtrack albums.
The only soundtracks I currently have are F.M. (1979) and the soundtrack to the Heavy Metal animated film (1981).
me too. I like John Williams a lot. And MG - that Dangerous Toys song is the best thing they have done. _________________

| The song is a left over track and the cross promotion begins:
Aerosmith will contribute a track to the G.I. Joe: Retaliation film soundtrack. The song is called "Legendary Child" and is an outtake from the 1993 album Get a Grip.
Personally, I love Get a Grip. I know a lot of Aero fans get twitchy when Get a Grip is mentioned, but it's my second fave Aerosmith record. Because of this, I am super excited about "Legendary Child." It's highly likely this song will be on the band's upcoming new album as well.
It seems like Aerosmith will perform "Legendary Child" at some point on American Idol this season.

I need to re-buy the Heavy Metal dbl-LP. I didn't appreciate 1/2 of it when I was a teenager, but not now. The Sammy Hagar "Heavy Metal" song was remixed or something, because it pounds! The bass is crisp and louder than on his Standing Hampton LP.

| "The first film was nominated for six Razzie Awards including Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, Worst Supporting Actor for Marlon Wayans and Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off or Sequel, with Sienna Miller "winning" the Razzie for Worst Supporting Actress at the 30th Golden Raspberry Awards".
Would anyone in their right mind want to be attached to this franchise, whether it be actor or musical act??? Wow, I'm shocked a studio would even want to get behind another movie.

| The estimated budget of the first G.I. Joe movie was $175 million, that number does not include advertising which was probably another $30 million. The film brought in $150 million worldwide.
Not exactly a strong case for producing a sequel, I guess they figure the brand is worth another investment.

Meh, the Razzies are a bunch of BS, I can think of dozens of worse films that have never gotten a single Razzie nom. I don't know anyone who actually bothers watching the razzies or even knows what they are, Aerosmith are making a smart investment with G.I. Joe, considering how succesful the first film was, Linkin Park made smart investments with the Transformers films, which also had several razzies noms.

| The Razzies are great! When I was a kid one of my favorite books was "The Golden Turkey Awards", read it cover to cover many times.
Many movies of today (the entire Transformers series for example) would definitely qualify if the Golden Turkey Awards still existed...thankfully the Razzie's do.

I would say that most adults know about the Razzies, teens probably not. Regarding Aerosmith and it being a smart investment, we'll see...Linkin who?
