| I went with the 3rd option. I haven't cared about a movie soundtrack since the movie 'Singles'. If it's a good song, cool. If it falls into movie-soundtrack obscurity, I'll survive. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| Is there a 4th option? This is a band I don't really care about doing a song for a movie I'll never see. Apathy at it's finest. | |

That more how I feel about it. Option 3 doesn't really capture my feelings on it, but that was closer than the other 2. I didn't see the first GI Joe movie and I can't image I'll see this one either. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | Depends what the song sounds like. If it's hard hitting like some of Aerosmith's heavier material, then it would work great! A song like "Don't Want to Miss A Thing", however, wouldn't be appropriate. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I'm really excited to see this film, Aerosmith are an OK choice I suppose, but i'd personally prefer a band like say Disturbed or Breaking Benjamin. | |

| Obviously that is a fail. Only Amon Amarth could do a song properly for this movie. | |

| They'll probably play 30 seconds of it during the movie, so it really matters not.

Did you play with My Little Pony when you were a kid? Actually I was a Star Wars guy. By the time the 30 minute commercials for G.I. Joe toys were around, I had long outgrown those things.

the one soundtrack i really enjoy of songs by various artists is Shocker. I had that on tape long ago, but never upgraded it. Probably should someday, just for the Dangerous Toys song. I only have a handful of soundtracks anymore. 'Singles' and 'Less Than Zero' are probably the only 2 that get much play from me these days. Although I did just break out Decline of Western Civilization: the Metal Years this week for sh*ts & giggles. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. I have quite a few film scores (Bernard Herrmann, John Barry, Jerry Goldsmith, etc), but I've never really been a fan of the "song collection" soundtrack albums. The only soundtracks I currently have are F.M. (1979) and the soundtrack to the Heavy Metal animated film (1981). |

I am with you here. Soundtrack SCORES are an equal passion of mine right next to the collecting rock n roll discs. As for Aerosmith and the new GI Joe movie, I am confused again with the relevence of Aerosmith to the demographic for this film? I mean are we 40 and 50 somethings truly the market for this or do they want the kid's to go see it? If its the kids then A'smith makes no sense...

| I am huge Aerosmith fan but I could give a rat's ass, most songs contributed to soundtracks are some throw away song that was not good enough to be put on an official release but will do in a pinch if a band needs extra scratch by throwing it on some soundtrack album. | |

| Supposedly this song that they're contributing to "G.I. Joe" is a re-working of an oldie that's been laying around since the PUMP era. That was the last Aerosmith album I really dug so who knows, maybe it'll be cool.
...but if it's another tear jerking cinematic end-credit power ballad ala "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" from "Armageddon," check please! _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Its probably a left over love song Diane Warren wrote that is so over the top and dramatic, that even Meat Loaf won't touch it with a 50 foot hoagie | |

The Nightmare On Elm Street sequels also had pretty good soundtracks.

The demographics you state may be on the high side. Joe 3/34 inch were made from 1982-1994 (classic era). The reason Joe is still popular is because of the fantastic Marvel comic series written by Larry Hama. If all you know of G.I.Joe is the cartoon, you'd be surprised how AWESOME the comic series is. Real bullets, not lasers, deaths(!), exciting plots, humour, shocking scenes (The massacre of 9 Joes in a ravine by a SAW Viper in #109 was chilling.) Of course the best movie soundtrack ever was Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, look at his stellar line up: 1."Leatherface" (Lääz Rockit) 2."Bored" (Death Angel) 3."When Worlds Collide" (Wrath) 4."Spark In My Heart" (Hurricane) 5."Power" (SGM) 6."One Nation" (Sacred Reich) 7."Monster Mash" (Utter Lunacy) 8."The Gift Of Death" (Wasted Youth) 9."Methods Of Madness" (Obsession) 10."Psychotic Killing Machine" (MX Machine)
