Anyone like 'em? I saw them on "The Southern Harmony & Musical Companion Tour". Great show. Went back stage too and that was unlike ANY experience I've ever had backstage. Chris Robinson signed my album flat while staring at the ceiling.

I loved Shake Your Moneymaker but they got a little too..."stoner-y" for me after that; too much psychodelic vibes going on I guess. I thought they might be coming back full circle with the "By Your Side" album because that had some great tracks like Go Faster and Kickin My Heart Around on it but after that, I gave up on them.

Fan of some/most of their releases, dig the live stuff more. The stuff the Robinson Bro's do on the side is pretty kewl too. One can get pretty much any show, any tour they've done on those sites that bands/fans share live music.

One of my absolutely positively favorite bands. Love Southern Harmony and Amorica the most.
The new CRB is coming out in June with its companion album coming out in September. Saw them twice at Harlow's ............. GREAT both times!

I found their "Money Maker" CD at a thrift store about 2 weeks ago. I like what I've heard, along with the songs I already knew from the radio.

I was a huge fan for a long time, but honestly, their last few releases have just bored me to tears. The last album that I really loved (and still do) is By Your Side. After that they just became less interesting to me. I still bought the albums, hoping something would grab me, but the last 2 especially, I don't think I've even made it through all the way. I think I'm done with these guys.

That's an awesome album and I was fortunate enough to see them live on that tour. The live show was even better than the album because they did a coupla Crowes songs along with the Zep tunes. It was the one & only time I'd ever seen Jimmy Page live and in person too.

I saw them open for Aerosmith when their first album had just come out. I liked that album and the follow up (Southern Harmony & Musical Companion, or whatever it's called) but never really paid much attention beyond those two.
Now that I think about it, I really ought to upgrade those two albums to CD one of these days, I still have the cassettes but nothin' to play them on anymore!

I saw them on that tour as well as the ill-fated tour with ZZ Top shortly before they were kicked off for Chris' anti-sponsorship tirade every night.

Hey, is Marc Ford still with them? When I went backstage I recognized him not from The Black Crowes but Burning Tree. I think that surprised him. I had no idea at the time he was in The Crowes. My brother turned me on to Burning Tree a few years before

No, I wish! That's an old pic from the mid 90s, he left them, this time, in 2006-7? Apparently, It was affecting his sobriety.
Check out Marc's solo stuff, It's pretty good. It took my a looooooong while to get into Warpaint and when it clicked I really enjoyed it and Before The Frost... and also, when I finally got over that MFF(and Eddie Harsch) wasn't gonna be a Crowe anymore after seeing him tour with them before Warpaint was released.

Anybody ever heard Sass Jordan's "Racine" album? That thing reminds me sooo much of Shake Your Moneymaker.

I did not think it resembled that album at all, then again I have not listened to that album in forever, but what I do remember is that Sass Jordan kicks ass

Liked the first couple and then a few songs after that. I think they're a better live band.

I bought Shake Your Moneymaker when it came out based solely on the name of the band and the album. It also didn't hurt that it was on Def American. Figured I couldn't lose with all that - and it was even better than I had anticipated. Funny thing was our little local yokel radio station had been playing Jealous Again for awhile. And of course never IDing who the song was by.
Someday I need to track down their later releases.

I only discovered them a few years back by buying blindly the Southern Harmony and Musical Companion album and i think it's a very awesome record. I also enjoy their first one, Amorica (i have to chuckle about the fact that even in the 90's they had to censore the cover in the USA, even though it was just some Playboy picture from the 70's ) Great band, a shame they are so unknown around here in europe
