Motley Crue has started recording new music (new single coming this summer)

MÖTLEY CRÜE's latest studio album, "Saints of Los Angeles", sold 99,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release. The CD was CRÜE's first studio album since 2000's "New Tattoo", which has sold over 200,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The band's previous studio effort with all of its original members was 1997's "Generation Swine", which debuted and peaked at No. 4 on The Billboard 200, and has sold more than 300,000 units.

"Saints of Los Angeles" was loosely based on the band's memoir, "The Dirt", which was published in 2001.

MÖTLEY CRÜE's latest "greatest-hits" collection, suitably titled "Greatest Hits", was released on November 17, 2009 via Eleven Seven Music/Mötley Records.

CRÜE performed its classic 1989 album, "Dr. Feelgood", in its entirety on Crüe Fest 2, the sophomore outing of the band's summer festival tour, to celebrate the record's 20th anniversary.

Eleven Seven Music/Mötley Records re-released "Dr. Feelgood" on September 21, 2009.

Motley Crue recently completed their successful 12 date Las Vegas residency at The Joint in Las Vegas' Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, although Sixx isn't sure how much longer the band will go on. In December he told Sleazeroxx.com, "I don't think this band was meant to last and we've lasted way longer than anyone ever expected us to. For us it's about trying to find the right time to end it (the band) correctly. We've had that talk as a band and even in the last year or so we've spoken that at some time we're going to want to wrap this up. I feel really proud of the band but we are taking steps to finish the movie and when we do we'll look at that time. When the movie (The Dirt) comes out it'll be time to finish on a high note, on a positive, and not like we're breaking up. I think that's a good thing and will probably put us about 35-years which is a long time for a rock band which is cool. We're not sad, we're happy."

I hope that means a new album this Fall/Winter. SOLA had some great stuff on it. I think they've done a great job at keeping their classic sound while blending modern hard rock into it.

Nikki has been on fire basically ever since the new songs for the Red, White & Crue comp.

i thought SOLA had some good songs and some filler. Ill be interested to hear the new material.

I'm with exact and I think the filler won out but i'll be interested in new stuff.

I liked Saints...and looking forward to hearing something new before Mick finally kicks. I think he died 10 years ago but someone forgot to tell him.

I thought Saints had attitude, but that's where it ended for myself. What it comes down to for me with Motley Crue is riffs, riffs, & riffs. They had great riffs on their first two albums, but every album after that contained a few stand out tracks (lots of filler). I gave up on this band long ago...

That guy does look rather cadaverous. I did like what little I heard from Saints so this one will hopefully be similar.

I recently read an interview where Mick said he's feeling the best he's felt in years. It's not so much that's he in pain, it's that he's not very mobile.

I agree that SOLA had some filler but "Saints of Los Angeles", "The Animal In Me", and "MFer of the Year" & "Just Another Psycho" were killer. Those songs rank as some of their best stuff, IMO.

If I understand correctly, the disease he has is making him extra stiff and brittle. Calcium deposits are fusing the bones in his spine and other joints together. He can medicate for the pain, but there isn't a cure for it.

The last time I saw Motley live, probably close to 7 or 8 years now, I was sitting on the side of the stage. When Tommy started his drum solo, I saw stage hands helping Mick down the stairs and walking with him to the backstage area. It reminded me of how I help my 84 year old grandfather navigate the steps to our house.
