I don't get Destination America so I haven't been able to keep up with TNA since the got dropped by Spike. I used to think the Jarretts were major turds but once Dixie Carter got hold of TNA she totally ran it into the ground. I read that they were real close to signing Paul Heyman at one point but he wanted to push all the young guys and axe most of the older guys (except for Kurt Angle) and Dixie wouldn't hear it.
Man, if Heyman had gotten his mitts on TNA and been able to book it, we might have had the second coming of ECW minus all the payroll problems Heyman had there. If Heyman could make a star out of someone like Spike Dudley, he could make a star out of anyone.

I loved the cartoon growing up and Rocksteady and Beebop were my favorite characters. Didn't like that in later versions they were dropped. Nice to see them being added back in (though in the modern cartoon, Beebop looks too damn anorexic). However, the last movie didn't look interesting so even with them added in, not sure I'd watch it.

Wonder of wonders, Kevin Owens defeated John Cena. Either they have a lot of faith in him or it's just a way to increase the NXT audience.

Time for a good laugh. Look at that horn section! And George Steele on tamborine! hahaha. I forgot all about this song until I just saw that the first 2 wrestling albums have been reissued on vinyl!

Dave Meltzer is reporting that Thomas Couch, best known as Tommy Rogers from the 80s and the tag team of The Fantastics, passed away this morning in Honolulu, where he was living since 2006.
Couch, who recently turned 54, had been having legal troubles in recent years stemming from fighting. He was to be sentenced tomorrow over a fight with police officers and feared a long prison stay.
At this moment, the cause of circumstances of his death are pending. There was no note left, and according to one of his best friends, he had been in good spirits in recent days. He was found at about 3 a.m. by his roommate in a chair in front of a computer, gurgling. The roommate called 911, but he was unable to be revived. The feud(s) between The Fantastics and The Midnight Express was/were legendary. Lots of good ol' fashioned bloodbaths.
RIP.

OK, I'm officially a smark for The New Day.
They were hilarious last night with Xavier Woods providing a running commentary while running around ringside. And I like how they don't get mad when the crowd starts chanting "New...Day sucks!"; now they just pretend the crowd is behind them. That's funny as hell. I read a blog where the blogger described them as a "happier version of The Shield when The Shield were heels."

Yeah, I think they are hilarious. I also liked R Truth better as a heel and all the Little Jimmy skits. Funny stuff, then they changed direction and it was back to the boring old Whats Up crap from him. He was way more over as a heel.

Yeah, I agree. R Truth worked a lot better as a heel and that Little Jimmy stuff was great.

I read a forum topic on an NXT tag team called The Vaudevillians. The guy was complaining that they could never make it because they are too skinny to be considered a real tag team. This guy of course also said Cesaro is too skinny so that kind of negates his opinion (seeing as Cesaro is probably one of the strongest guys on the roster). The way he was talking about these guys (referring to their arm size) I was expecting anorexic looking guys, but this is them:
Yes, they aren't big guys, but they aren't the smallest wrestlers I've ever seen. Look at Spike Dudley; and does anyone remember PG-13?
At least The Vaudevillians look like they actually work out. I don't watch NXT but I hear these guys are pretty entertaining and the crowd responds well to them (they began as heels, but get cheered now).

Paul Heyman made Spike Dudley a star. Heyman could make anyone a star if given free reign to do whatever he wants.

The Vaudevillians are a comedy tag team with a creative entrance. They won't get over on the main roster because they are a tag team and WWE doesn't care about tag teams. They are doomed.

True. And that's a shame. When I watch some of the "classic" match DVDs I have some of the best matches on there are tag matches. I have one that features the Road Warriors vs The Midnight Express in a scaffold match. Not only is it gory as hell but Jim Cornette actually takes a bump from the scaffold to the ring and tore up his knee in the process.

And if they do, they will become a joke. I.e. The Ascension. But the point was that it won't be because they are "anorexic looking" (I'm quoting the person bad mouthing them).

Those guys are only "anorexic-looking" if you have 'Vince goggles' on.

Exactly. The guy also called Cesaro skinny and he is one of the strongest superstars they have.

Why don't they let this guy talk more? And not scripted crap? He's hilarious!
