Yeah, the Texas Tornado gimmick was a bit lame. I know he had some issues with the fake foot. Suposedly Vince didn't know about the artificial foot when he signed him to the WWF.
As for George Steele, I always loved him. But when I first saw him he was a heel and I too enjoyed the heels. Loved the Heenan Family, Bundy & Studd, heel Islanders, Rude, etc. One of the only heels I never liked from that era was The Honky Tonk Man. Even today I love heel Jericho more than face Jericho (and in TNA a heel Bobby Roode).
I remember back in 1985 or so we had ring side seats in Joe Louis Arena and I yelled something at The Iron Sheik (dont remember what) and he stopped what he was doing in the ring and looked at me and said "USA SUCKS!" Was quite hillarious since I said nothing about Iran.
I've always liked heels better than faces. They're just more interesting IMO. I loved Raven as a heel in ECW; his schtick was creepy and original at the time. Even now I like heel Sheamus much better than face Sheamus.

I always thought that Rowdy Roddy Piper was the man back in the day. Piper's Pit was a riot !
Oh yes! Amazing, if completely random, promos. He improvised a lot of it, and that's why it was so entertaining and believable. I didn't care for him as an in-ring performer, but he was amazing when you gave him the mic.
I remember that Halloween bit where he was giving kids cinder blocks instead of chocolate, and bowling balls instead of candy apples, and he was just constantly ranting.

I'm going to take a safe bet that the son of Jacques Rougeau will end up in WWE eventually:

Yeah, no steroids there...sheesh!
Look at the traps and the bis on the guy. A natural weightlifter doesn't look like that; they look like Sheamus or Rusev, not Scott Steiner.

Just like there was no steroids in Batista, Chris Masters, or The Rock .

I'll give you Batista and Masters but I'm not sure about The Rock. I don't think he ever quite got that neanderthalish look. Then again, he did have a "breast reduction surgery" which could have been the result of steroids so who knows.

Well I didn't mean The Rock then, but The Rock now (i.e. his "return" to WWE).

I don't watch NXT but Samoa Joe made an appearance as... Samoa Joe! They let him keep his name! Good, I was afraid they would rebrand him -- and they still may eventually but good to see him show up on NXT.

In regards to the Cena vs. Rusev "I Quit" match at the last PPV, Rusev's yelling in Bulgarian was translated:
“Ahhh no…ahhh I give up! Next time we will crush you! I give up! Stop! I told you! I’ll crush you Cena! Damn your old mother, Cena! I will crush you! That’s enough, I told you.” Someone pointed out that that part in red should be on an anti-Cena shirt.

I know the Undertaker's getting up there in years, but I'm seriously beginning to wonder about his overall health:

BTW, this gimmick with The New Day is starting to grow on me now that they're heels. They sure get heat from the crowd with the "New...Day sucks!" chants. All one of those guys has to do is begin that stupid clap and the crowd starts right in.

WWE actually made the right call this time. They have a bad habit of keeping guys getting heel reactions face and even worse keeping guys getting face reactions heel (Cesaro anybody?).

ROH to Destination America as the lead in to Impact
Rumors were going around that TNA has been cancelled and will not air after Sept but that is only rumor. It was announced that Impact would move to Wed nights. Then it was annouced yesterday that ROH will air on Destination America. Interesting.
Story here: ROH to DA

TNA is indeed being cancelled. ROH's contract with Destination America is through December. Wrestlezone.com has all kinds of stories on this situation.
Too bad TNA is run by idiots.

Youre right, too bad... I have enjoyed Friday night Impact and I hope Bobby Roode finds his way to WWE. James Storm too. They have some decent talent there. I read today that WWE now has interest in AJ Styles and would like to add him to NXT like they did Joe and give him a contract where he can do independant dates... But it's all speculation at this point.
