| It's a much more impressive album than Counterparts. There are a few "straight-ahead rockers" on here, which is probably why it's getting compared to that album. But overall the arrangements, performances and songwriting is much more complex and layered than the stripped down sound of Counterparts.
I think Clockwork is their best album since the Grace Under Pressure/Power Windows era. Snakes & Arrows was a damn good album and kind of showed the direction they would take, but Clockwork really nails it home.

Had to input Rabin and The Gathering, as well. That same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I swear I had all my Porcupine Tree albums listed but they weren't. Now that it happened to you too I'm suspecting something happened with the site. I swear I put those cds on the list. _________________

| Sometimes if you list a different edition other than the original edition, it doesn't show up on the band's list. _________________ FINAL SIGN

| Clockwork Angels debuts at #2 on Billboard, selling a little over 104,000 copies in it's first week of release. Not bad considering how terrible record sales are at this point in history.

| Glad to see Rush gain the No. 2 spot. Anyone know what was number 1?
Anyways, I'm really liking this album. "Seven Cities of Gold" is one of my favorites and "The Garden" is nice, sentimental closer too.

I've listened to it several times and I'm not feeling it yet either. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I'm waiting to find it cheap. I haven't totally jumped on a Rush album since Vapor Trails. | |

| It's a very dense record, the kind that takes quite a few listens to completely sink in.

I'm noticing. Finally starting to click after a few spins. "Seven Cities of Gold", "Caravan" and "BU2B" seem to stand out so far. Listened to it a few times over the past week. Listened to it twice today. The production is so very digital. It's a fairly heavy album but the modern digital production holds it back slightly. It seems very compressed to me. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

It is very compressed, standard "loudness wars" b*llshit. The LP is less compressed and sounds better than the CD issue, it is more dynamic and there's a better sense of space to the instruments. |

| Digital download for $0.99.

Not sure if this is a promo thing, a glitch, or what, but if you want the download for a buck, go for it.

Not sure if this is a promo thing, a glitch, or what, but if you want the download for a buck, go for it. Amazon has been doing that recently. They had the "Ziggy Stardust" remaster for .99 cents a couple weeks ago. I think it's a promotional thing. |

| Over the years I've discovered that the albums that require several listens to sink in are also generally the albums that have the longest shelf-life to me. Albums that hit me right away are usually the ones that I eventually get tired of, while the "challenging" ones stick in my mind for years and years.
