They have a new singer now, though. Ah, that explains why that song you posted didn't have the Black Crowes vibe that I got from Hurricane Party. I think I like the first singer better.

Same singer on both those tracks. Haha. That Heaven's Basement track is from their first EP; the new singer is on the new EP, Unbreakable. But Roadstar was Hurricane Party, just with a different name. Heaven's Basement was a new band, with just—I think—the singer and guitarist from Roadstar in the band. So yeah, they're a bit different in style.

Great disc!!! Yea, that Nudeswirl in a good'un. I think I paid a buck for my copy too at a record expo. I've heard good things about Las Cruces too, but don't own any. Doom metal I think, right? _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. That Nudeswirl album is brilliant! You will never hear another band use feedback as an instrument so perfectly. I still listen to that album all the time. It's been on constant rotation for 20 years now.
That Las Cruces is excellent as well, and the Chinchilla disc is quite good. Yeah, the Las Cruces is amazing!! Best blind buy in quite a while! The Nudeswirl reminds me of a heavier version of early/80s Soundgarden... _________________ FINAL SIGN

This is THE definitive edition of Holy Diver. It blows my Japanese remaster out of the water and sounds amazing through my Bose speakers.

Dismember x 4 albums:
Indecent and Obscene Pieces (EP) Massive Killing Capacity Where Ironcrosses Grow
I would recommend Dismember to anyone who likes Autopsy, Celtic Frost, and generally early 90s Swedish death metal ala Entombed / Unleashed. The vocals are not too growly or gargling or anything like you would normally find in a lot of modern death metal bands.
Municipal Waste - Massive Aggressive This is my 2nd Municipal Waste album. I bought The Art of Partying several years ago but it wasn't until I heard some of the singles from Massive Aggressive that I ended up liking this band more. The style on Massive Aggressive is not too different from The Art of Partying except the songs are catchier with Maiden-esque riffs found all over the place.
Autopsy - Severed Survival (20th Anniversary edition) This is a classic death metal album by a classic death metal band. The sound, style and overall feel hails from an era when death metal was still new, still in its infancy if you will. Not many bands sound like Autopsy, but essentially the sound you get here is this sludgy, dirty, grinding bass sound that creates this band's own vision of death metal. It is not 'br00tal' or filled with blast beats as death metal would generically become known for in the later years. Instead, this still has a strong thrashy influence, borrowed from the likes of Slayer and Possessed, except it is made to sound harsher and rawer. All in all a great album.
The 20th Anniversary edition comes with a bonus disc which includes two newly recorded songs from 2008 and a whole bunch of live songs and demos. The packaging comes in the form of a double-gated digipack and the cover artwork is the 'censored' version with the zombie surgeons. However the original album artwork can be found on the front of the booklet.
Gorguts x 2 albums:
Considered Dead The Erosion of Sanity (both are Metal Mind re-issues)
Classic death metal. Again another piece of old school death metal history here. Despite being from Canada, this band's sound is similar to the Florida-based dm scene. Recommended for anyone into the older Malevolent Creation albums, Morbid Angel and the like.
