| 1 Foo Fighters - Wasting Light 2 Megadeth - 13 3 Anthrax - Worship Music 4 Alice Cooper - Welcome 2 My Nightmare 5 Wino - Adrift 6 Ghost - Opus Eponymous 7 Rival Sons - Pressure & Time 8 Motorhead - The World Is Yours 9 Beady Eye - Different Gear, Still Speeding 10 Foo Fighters - Medium Rare 11 Stryper - The Covering
Honorable mentions to Black Country Communion, Sebastian Bach, Riverside and Social Distortion. Decent releases, but didn't get nearly the amount of spins as those top 11.
Dissapointments: Graveyard and Cauldron. Had high expectations for both and both just left me 'meh'. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

I couldn't find it anywhere. =( And I think the Ghost album came out in 2010, right? I checked, that's what it said, else it would have been on my list for sure. I wasn't blown away by Rival Sons. Good, but not as good as you bastards had me believe.

Well, if you know where to look, wink-wink. I don't normally do that sort of thing, but it's such a rare release (and in vinyl no less), they aren't giving fans much of a choice. If it ever gets a legit release on cd, I'll get it. Unitl then, too bad Dave. I'm downloading it. - Quote :

Technically, yes. In Europe. But it didn't get a US release till March of 2011. Same thing with Motorhead. It came out in Europe in Dec. 2010, but not until Jan. of '11 in the states. So both of those album go in my records as 2011 releases. - Quote :

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I didn't have much expectations and I just threw a bid out there on ebay for gits & shiggles. I was just as surprised that I won it for so cheap. Now to find their other stuff. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. I've only had it about 2 weeks now, but it's a cracker. I can see it getting lotsa play in the new year. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. For bands trading in the "retro rock" sound, no one beats The Answer in my book (although that's not an entirely accurate classification of The Answer's sound either). _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

But you had to pay for a subscription, which came out to like $50. Not worth it. Anyway, didn't know Rival Sons had more than one album. Good to know. I dig them, just had high expectations for some reason.

It is a very enjoyable slab of well-played thrash metal.

| I edited my list (as I continue to catch up with 2011 releases). Laura Marling's "A Creature I Don't Know" easily jumped into the top 10 for me (pushing out the Graveyard album, which was only "okay" to begin with).

I was right. I only picked up five new releases this year. Fortunately, I dug all five of the ones I *did* get, so here they are: Iced Earth - DYSTOPIA (whatacomeback!) Anthrax - WORSHIP MUSIC (ditto!) Anvil - JUGGERNAUT OF JUSTICE Stryper - THE COVERING Megadeth - TH1RT3EN Hopefully Publishers Clearing House will come thru with that "million dollars a year for life" check I've been waiting for in 2012 so I can get caught up on all the stuff I missed. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
