Worst Band Names...

Apparently Robert Smith gets very upset if they aren't called "THE Cure". On my Itunes library and on my devices I never put the "the". Well except for my "The The" albums.

Has Gaye Bykers On Acid been mentioned. Pretty decent band but damn on that name if you ever hoped to get taken seriously.

Elvis Hitler is another. Love them but the name has always bothered me.

I've come to like the Screaming Trees monicker. But yeah, at first that sounded like a made up band on television to me.

There was a power metal band called "Hanker" some years back. That sounds like something you cough up when you're sick, or find inside your nose. "Aw, dammit dude, gimme a tissue, I got a huge hanker comin' up here!"

Hanker would make a cool name for a rootsy country band though. Power metal, not so much.

Picture their t-shirts. Some "Duck Dynasty" lookin' dude sayin' "I got me a Hankerin' for some Hanker!!"

I love Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, but never liked the name.

Seriously? Then why does Wish have Cure on the cover as the band name and not The Cure?

In general all these bands with sentences for names.

Mob Rules is a pretty ugly name.

Firewind is OK because combining two elements is automatically metal. But not Silent Force.

One of the most bizarre band names I can think of is Twilightning.

Toad the Wet Sprocket and Jimmy Eat World are both very nonsensical names(I don't even know what the hell a sprocket is).

Black Sabbath featuring Tony Iommi - WTF?!!!!

I always thought Crimson Glory was kind of an awkward name.

Blame Warner Bros. for that one. The album was supposed to be "Tony Iommi" but at the last minute WB ordered "Black Sabbath" added...but since Tony was the only original member on the album they chickened out and added the "featuring" to the title.

Seventh Star was a solo album (and a damn good one) but it should never have carried the name Black Sabbath.
