Anyone else notice how similiar some of the band names look with each other? Specifically:
Eliminator Eradicator Municipal Waste Violator Haydes Bonded By Blood Vindicator Toxic Holocaust Skeleton Witch Ancient Dome Torment Tool Are designers getting paid by how many spikes they can add to the letters? No big deal, just an observation.

Thanks Mike, but I don't really consider Ultimatum as part of the "New Wave" since we've been around since 1992. Still, thanks for being a fan.
ok. I consider ultimatum part of the new wave because they werenot really part of the first wave. I didn't really discover ultimatum until a few years ago.

I like this thread and have added it to my favorites for a reference when next time I shop for thrash. So many of the new wave thrash bands have a habit of sounding too samey so you take a gamble on blind thrash buys. These samples give me an idea of which ones I will like and which ones that would become a one play thing and re-visited years later (which happens with CDs that fail to grab me on the first listen-only favorite bands get the re-play treatment).

There are so many threads relating to this particular topic, though not always in title. I am sure they've been mentioned. I have praised "Storm Before The Calm" here in discussion. I wanna get "We Will Destroy...You Will Obey"

I prefer the solos on We Will Destroy...You Will Obey. Might have something to do with James Murphy s presence.

He doesn' t play on it, but he produced it, so the i think his influence is definitely there.

Yeah dude, Toxic holocaust is based out of PDX also but not really a true band from the area since Im pretty sure Joel relocated from Maryland.
Check out an album Stormspell reissued a couple years back by a band called Chemical Annhilation called "why die?" They were from Oregon also.

I've heard most of these bands before but not all.
I'm just really not hearing much strong songwriting.
I think VIOLATOR's "Atomic Nightmare" is by far the best song in the thread. Kinda reminds me of SLAYER or DARK ANGEL and doesn't seem to add anything new to the mix that I hear.
