I'd love to hear a studio version of this.

agree with KISS Alive II versions better than the studio recordings.

and not sure if this counts as it is sort of a cover,
but Mick Jagger & Tina Turner doing "State of Shock" at Live Aid rocked, and put The Jacksons original (with Jagger and Michael singing) to shame.

The live version of "Creeping Death" from that Moscow 91' show totally annihilates! Actually, that whole show is freakin' awesome!

Any live version of Creeping Death is generally more awesome, especially the "DIE" part - there's something incredibly metal about 20000+ people chanting "DIE!!" for several minutes headbanger

Temple of Soul by Die Happy of of their Intense Live album. Completely smashes the original. Greg Chaisson singing the outro is fantastic.

Paschndale off of Maidens Death on the Road album. Fantastic.

Burn from Whitesnake's Live - In the Still of the Night. Freakin great song!

Down in a Hole and Nutshell off of Alice in Chains' Unplugged album are both better than the studio versions IMO.
I don't own many live albums, but I usually prefer the studio versions.
