Went to Fry's to return a device I was going to use to retrieve info from my failed hard drive. While there, despite not expecting to find much, I searched the CD section and found some Metal Mind reissues. With everthing that's happening in my life I decided to lift my spending freeze and bought my first CDs since being unemployed:

Max Headroom - Episode 2

Called "Rakers". In the not too distant future a game is created where teams of teens on skateboards try to kill each other with various weapons. Think Rollerball meets X Games. Were skateboards all that popular back in the late 80s? The venue where the games occur looks an awful lot like the X Games venue and X Games sure didn't exist back then.

It's nice to have all their albums now with all the bonus tracks, but I have to admit, for a "box set" the packaging is kinda shoddy. 5 albums in digi-packs in a cheap thin cardboard slip case. Each cd has a booklet, but nothing extra with the box set itself, like a book. The bonus is a cloth patch, which while nifty, will go unused by me. Heck, they didn't even bother to give the set a new title. It's just the OG box set. Chalk that up to another casuality of a declining record industry I guess.

The price was right though, so I can't complain. I paid $35 + s/h. Those individual cds easily go for over $10 each, if not more. I had a good night playing cards a coupla weeks ago, so I treated myself.

I got the first two in a 2 cd / bonus tracks package but it is just a 2 cd case. what you got sounds cool, even if it is on the cheap side of box sets.

I got outbid on that version many, many times. And the original version of Frequencies from Planet Ten sold for crazy amounts, which is why I never owned a copy till now.

So I went to my favorite Buybacks store this past weekend and they were having a sale: buy 3, save 30%, buy 4 save 40%, buy 6 or more save 50%. I had also taken in a few CDs that I didn't want and they gave me $6 (they weren't all that great!)

However, I spent $42 and change and walked out with the following:

(that effectively wipes out my Queen want list with the exception of Live Killers)
